notes
Formed in July of 2002, Pelusa is an alt-country/folk duo from Seattle. Two people write and sing their own songs from different backgrounds and perspectives, resulting in music that has folk, rootsy blues, and traditional country sensibilities with an emphasis on melody and vocal harmony.
These are songs with vulnerability and wit - from the barest guitar and vocal story to a rambling talking blues with mandolin and harmonica. At home with the intimacy of a quiet coffeehouse to the more vulgar poetry of the roadhouse, Pelusa delivers folk music...for all you folks.
Pelusa is:
Moe Provencher-mandolin, acoustic guitar, harmonica, vocals
Mike Mcdermott-bass, acoustic guitar, vocals.
Pelusa's full length debut "where you were before" was independently released in January 2005.

Let It Be without the angst
author: Julie JurgensThis album has traces of Let It Be, Tom Waits, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, and Leon Redbone, yet these are only traces; all of the myriad of influences combine almost flawlessly to form a unique and cohesive sound. There is solid songwriting here augmented by simple, clear, skillful presentation. If you like the Mike and Amy Finders Band, Chris Mills, or Ryan Adams, pick up Pelusa. You'll like it, I promise.
