notes

“Easily the best-unsigned band in the U.S.” (Harder Beat Magazine, Dallas, TX). Miles Beyond is an instantly recognizable U.S. Power Metal band that succeeds even when the odds are stacked against them. Miles Beyond's self-titled debut album stands out defiantly from the current dismal U.S. Hard Rock/Heavy Metal scene; giving hope to the faithful that true heavy metal is not dead in the United States. Even without the support of a Record Label or Management, Miles Beyond has been seen in both the U.S. and Europe playing with some of the biggest names in the power metal genre such as Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Iced Earth, Edguy, Sonata Arctica and Kamelot. Melody is everywhere and is the key to the group’s high energy sound. It lives in the stellar vocals, catchy songs, killer dual guitar leads and intricate bass lines.

“The Band’s self titled debut is a refreshing indicator that quality metal is alive and well in the good ol’ U.S. of A.” (Harvest Moon Music). Germany’s Heavy Magazine gave their CD a 12 out of 12 rating and they received the 2007 Song of the Year award for A Call to Odin from Sven’s World Radio, CA.. The lyrics on each of the twelve songs cover themes ranging from adventure, fantasy, historical and mythical beings to real life experiences, taking the listener on a musical journey through a landscape of sound.

“Miles Beyond are what heavy metal is supposed to be…fun” (The Hairball John Show). Live, the band displays an energy and excitement that transcends the stage, infecting the audience. Miles Beyond has also performed alongside major international acts including Trivium, Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe, Powerman 5000, W.A.S.P., Danzig, Metal Church, Joey Belladonna of Anthrax, Blitzkrieg and Girlschool. Their live performances have received the following compliments:

“Miles Beyond already took me by surprise with their great debut album… On stage the band is even much better than on CD … superb singer & great sound. If you ever have the chance to see this band live, don't hesitate.” – Mario Van Dooren, Mario’s Metal Mania

Miles Beyond “came, saw and conquered - wow, what a gig!” - Bruder Cle of Rock Hard Magazine

“If you are still hungry for new bands that stick out of the masses, go for Miles Beyond" (Hellion Records, Germany). Their songwriting is highlighted by strong musicianship from the whole group. Vocalist Tim Moody provides soaring melodies as well as dynamic guitar work and the high octane guitar playing of Paulo rounds out the partnership of the guitar duo. The rhythm section of “Metal Dennis” Schwan (bass) and Tod Fisher (drums) lay the foundation for the guitar driven sound of Miles Beyond.

  • Great Band!!

I had the pleasure of seeing Miles Beyond when they came to play in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. They were absolutely amazing!! I bought the CD that night and I haven't stopped listening to it since. If you're waiting for a better band to come around you're not going to find one. Go ahead and get this CD. Fans of true heavy metal fans will definitely love this!!

  • For Maiden Fans

From the sound to the lyrics any fan of the British heavy metal pioneered by Iron Maiden and Judas Priest will love this album.

  • Safe bet

I knew the band since (like so many) it leaked in the Internet and a friend recommend it to me, since then (last year) I've been tracking the album and finally found it at CDBaby. It's great metal, powerful yet melodic, heavy and energetic. one of the best from last year (sadly I didn't purchase it last year). It will appeal to fans of true metal, power metal and it's a band I hope they make much more in the future. Recommended.

Maybe bands dont like being compared to other bands or hearing the phrase -sounds just like...- but if you're one of those rivit heads that cant get enough of that old school Iron Maiden sound yet still sounding fresh, you know, the harmony guitar, solid rythem section with the galloping bass and over the top vox, then you NEED this disc. My copy will be on regular rotation for a while.

  • Very fantastic CD

I thoroughly enjoyed this CD for two reasons. One being the excellent guitar work. That is the one thing that really catches your attention immediately. The intrinsic riffs. The other thing that stands out are the vocals. They are very powerful and well done … The song writing is excellent and I notice they cover a lot of different topics on here including an ode to Crazy Horse who was a damn fine warrior. All in all, a very fantastic CD. I think the future looks bright for these guys.

  • True Metal
    author: Rock Report

Miles Beyond play the kind of music that often uses odd time patterns and weird tempo changes to create a mood but while their music can surely be considered technical, they focus on melody and songs instead … Guitarist Paul Owsinski especially delivers some adept riffery and soloing … Lyrically the band present evocative tales of war and heroism in times long gone by and combined with the aforementioned song-writing and musical skills, makes for some engaging listening indeed. With not a filler among the 12 tracks on offer, it’s not easy picking favourites but the straight ahead power of the speedy “Tales Of Old”, the towering and multi-faceted epic “Vlad, The Impaler” and the galloping sounds of closing track “A Call To Odin” sit best with yours truly. Miles Beyond are truly a promising newcomer onto the scene and therefore I don’t hesitate to recommend them to lovers of true metal bordering on the progressive side.

  • Power Metaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallll....and it sounds great!
    author: Daredevil Magazine

A huge guitar-driven sound with a lot of harmonies and solos and a really cool voice … No wonder that these guys shared stage with major acts like Vince Neil and Iced Earth. Miles Beyond are what I call a Heavy-Metal thunder ... full of energy and heart. Their Metal sounds pretty European … Do yourself a favor and order their album, cause this is great stuff and the recording is very strong and original...believe me...if you are into Heavy-Metal...you are definitely into Miles Beyond. I highly recommend Miles Beyond.

  • Power Metal fans should absolutely LOVE this
