Combining elements of various American musical genres such as country, jazz, folk, and rockabilly, Delta 88 creates a unique style that is at once original and familiar.

Delta 88's debut album represents the culmination of a year of playing out in the Ann Arbor area.

The trio of Danny Kline (voice), Alex Anest (guitar), and John Sperendi (bass) was augmented on various tunes by guest drummers, horn players, and especially Jeff Plankenhorn on Dobro.

The songs, mostly written by Danny, are honest and simple reflections of real life.

Alex and John weave flowing melodic lines around Danny's vocals to create an atmosphere appropriate for each composition, from mellow and relaxed to driving and energetic.

    Delta 88 has produced a quality album that combines many musical influences into a cohesive set of songs. I have seen them live and they are very serious about their style of music which could be categorized as "roadhouse" music. Buy this CD and catch them live if they play a gig in your area. They also happen to be nice guys!

    Without having to state our obvious bias, Alex would attest to the fact that dad does not hand out praise easily, "ya gotta earn it boy" The entire cd is a knockout, writing, arrangment, & production. We are looking forward to the next cd with some more songs like "Rollin'On" and our favorite "Smoke #20"
