****mp3s of this complete album are included on delta 88's second release "a picture of home."****
Combining elements of various American musical genres such as country, jazz, folk, and rockabilly, Delta 88 creates a unique style that is at once original and familiar.
Delta 88's debut album represents the culmination of a year of playing out in the Ann Arbor area.
The trio of Danny Kline (voice), Alex Anest (guitar), and John Sperendi (bass) was augmented on various tunes by guest drummers, horn players, and especially Jeff Plankenhorn on Dobro.
The songs, mostly written by Danny, are honest and simple reflections of real life.
Alex and John weave flowing melodic lines around Danny's vocals to create an atmosphere appropriate for each composition, from mellow and relaxed to driving and energetic.

author: Sarah DanielskiThis cd has traveled with me from Ann Arbor, to San Diego, to New York City, to Richmond, VA. I am ready for some more samples of your style. Do you have another cd yet??? Richmond, VA would love to hear you!
I wish you had another CD right now.
author: Sarah PetersThis CD is smooth like a sunset in August. "Stone Quarry" and "Rollin' On" are my favorites.
A quality offering from a young group!
author: Jack GubancDelta 88 has produced a quality album that combines many musical influences into a cohesive set of songs. I have seen them live and they are very serious about their style of music which could be categorized as "roadhouse" music. Buy this CD and catch them live if they play a gig in your area. They also happen to be nice guys!
COME TO CALIFORNIA!!!!!
author: Tiffany Snowdon"Wicked Good" CD...I must admit I am rather partial to Smoke #20 (with LITTLE TO NO BIAS as my FAVORITE cousin wrote it) as it is great to listen to at work...keeps my fingers typing...
Music for a cool, sunny, Sunday afternoon. Like today.
author: Richard WorthThis is the kind of music that sneaks up on you, and gets underneath your skin. Great playing and singing, and songwriting that actually has something to say. Stick around for the bonus track, it's worth the wait.
The latest great local release is the debut CD by Delta 88
author: Brian Lillie, "agenda"Fans of rootsy music who appreciate a more elegant and restrained sound will find Delta 88's debut to be a still water that runs surprisingly deep. I already can't wait for their next one!
our favorite
author: Mom & Dad AnestWithout having to state our obvious bias, Alex would attest to the fact that dad does not hand out praise easily, "ya gotta earn it boy" The entire cd is a knockout, writing, arrangment, & production. We are looking forward to the next cd with some more songs like "Rollin'On" and our favorite "Smoke #20"
