Born on September 13, 1981 in St. Petersburg, Florida as Herman Grant, Cristol has spent his entire life in the South. After graduating from Northeast High School in St. Pete, Cristol moved away to Danville, Virginia to attend Averett College. After a year at Averett College, he then made the decision to come back home to explore his musical talents while attending St. Petersburg College working on his Musical Engineering and Spanish Degree.
Cristol's talent was first noticed at the age of 10 when he began to play the trombone and the sax, but that wasn't enough. He then began starring in school-sponsored Broadway musicals and talent shows, but his potential was still untouched. As he entered high school he was selected by his peers to be the lead singer in the school choral group. He was also a member of two R&B groups in high school: Lil 2 Shai, and 3 till. He then began to explore his new-found love, Hip-Hop music. In 1999, as a member of the rap groups Flo-Ridaz and South point, he began to record music.
Based on a strong fan following and increased interest in his musical venues he began to realize that he had a special talent. In order to build a stronger fan following, he came to the conclusion that he needed to start performing in an attempt to display his real talents and love for his music. With such inspirations as Jermaine Dupree and Trick Daddy, Cristol began to hit the stage with club hopping Down South Hip-Hop.
At 20 years of age, Cristol began to work on his debut album, Understand Me. He hooked up with Stylish Entertainment and began releasing hot tracks such as “Ghetto Fabulous, Understand Me, and Candy Girl. This album, set to be released in the winter of 2002, has guest appearances from some of Florida's finest, such as Shawty T, Chesco, and E P.
Cristol is a rapper that is just beginning to scratch the surface of his talents and will be a force to be dealt with in the Hip-Hop industry in the near future. Please find enclosed a copy of his fact sheet, a comment section from IUMA.com, a contact sheet, photos and a copy of his demo. Thank you in advanced for your time and efforts in exploring one of the South's brightest new talents.
