Maria Walsh and Carole Nelson of Zrazy based in Dublin, Ireland are considered to be one of the most extraordinary groups in Ireland today. With a broad contemporary sound that began in dance, funky, jazzy house/techno, incorporating the rhythms and technology of today (the first 2 CD's ); their 3rd CD Private Wars is a stunning collection of 11 original award winning jazz songs.
This is a sensual mellow jazz quintet with a singer whose voice "oozes with hurt and experience" while her music partner Carole plays beautiful lyrical saxophone and piano. Both women are the creative team and the album has won a GLAMA award for Best Jazz in New York. Private Wars was also among the top 3 winners of the Billboard Song Contest -Jazz category.
11 stunning original songs some of which are destined to become classics of the jazz singers repetoire. Maria Walsh wraps her ravishing voice around Carole Nelson's lyrics, always finding an intense emotional depth and maturity with no concession to sentimentality. She is accompanied by music that is both soulful and restrained. . Most of these songs were recorded as first-takes, capturing a freshness, a spontaneity and a great band vibe. Sheer class.

I love this CD, I spend a lot of time driving on the M23 and M25 and this helps pass the time in a relaxing way. Love Zrazy, reminds me of home.
