It began way back in the 90's in Hawaii. The brothers Ezra & Eddy both guitarist looking for their own style explored the sound of Indonesian ethnic music in metal. But after a long twisted life it was in Indonesia that they got together to form Zifactor. It was 2002, the idea was a band that talks honestly of bitterness,hope & life here.The music had gotta be Indonesian metal & unique. Not just another metal band from Indonesia. We call our music Tribal Core. After a coupla years playing without permanent members,helped out by Tyo who never knew he could growl, they met up Bopaq, a growler & Iwan a real vocalist with 3 previous band albums & Bopaq's brother, Uya the bassist, who believed in the mission & Zifactor became a real band. We started recording our debut mini album 'Kill paradigm' with 7 songs + 1 bonus guitar shit in early 2006 at Eddy's bedroom. Agus our drummer, joined later in Dec 2006. The band is a total d.i.y band. All recording, mixing & mastering, video, website, enhanced DVDs & CDs, contents, artwork, covers etc were all done by the band & our team of creative misfits. We are releasing the album under our own self-created label, Unsound Records, in a joint-venture with PRS Sony for local distribution in late August 2007. Unsound Records is also looking for labels out there preferably metal or indie oriented to release Zifactor outside of Indonesia.

    When u try to find somethin' original about Metal n ethnic in one composition. I think ZiFactor was the one who made it. The songs are pretty catchy even it has progressive metronomic patern, with twin guitars shredding,singing n growling also shouting somethin' loud!..Aaargh. U r the genuine one! ZiFactor, U r the man! Salute & Respect!

    Wow! Finally a band from Indonesia to be proud of! After reading some of the reviews, I could not agree more. There should be a new genre called 'Tribal Core'. Highly recommended!

    Give the songs a few listen. The band's a little rough around the edges but their own style & voice cuts through. A good effort for a self-produced, do-it-in-the-bedroom mini EP debut. The songs are pretty catchy with interesting melodic singing & unique growl/scream treatment. A plus is the awesome twin guitars shredding that surprisingly don't sound like the usual guitar gods & also a rare thing these days: a recognisable guitar style of their own! The 3 vocal concept is unique but didn't get explored enough. Calling this type of metal Tribal Core feels right! So isn't this a new genre or what?

    I have heard many Indonesian metal bands. But this is the only one and the first in my opinion to truly stand out. Very original, powerful and surprising!!
