notes

"This recording was produced through a process which results in the last sound you hear still containing some element of the first.

Music is at the very least definable as sound over time.

If time were viewed as a canvas, this experiment would be the equivalent of a series of photographs of a painter acting as a performance artist while tearng his or her canvas apart and crumpling and stretching into unrecognizable pulp as soon as a finished painting is completed and using the discarded remains to create a collage to paint over for the next work before the process is again repeated.

Each time the results are unique.

Each time the material is recycled into the accumulating layers until the pulp that holds the canvas together colapses into itself." Folded Time 3 continues this process by resculting the matterials from Folded Time 2 once more via the visions of other artists selected by Zero Times Infinity.

The remixes show a few directions that the matterial could travel in if metamorphosis where to continue.

We hope that this will inspire other artists to think of new possibilities and other listeners to imagine new visions.

------------

"Describing a Z.T.I. show is kind of like trying to describe a marshmallow tosomeone who's never seen or eaten one. Three [sometimes more] people onstage oblivious to audience reaction, spontaneously deconstructing the "live band" ethic, allowing seemingly random events to either find order or breakdown into chaos on their own. Phat beats pummeled into the ground by white noise distortion, approaching the punk rock "fuck you" without any effort whatsoever. Sometimes ambient, sometimes beat driven grinding anti-melodies, but never staying stationary, they demand respect for daring to play truly live electronics. "
