  • An engaging mix of Peruvian ethnic styles and contemporary harmonic language.
    author: Chris Sharp

"Cafe Con Leche" represents the best of what can happen when cultures collide. The memories of Tito Puente and Mario Bauzá are honored by this next logical step into the fusion of Latin rhythmic influences and American jazz. The Peruvian grooves are similar to what we have already experienced from Carribbean sources, but at the same time fresh and different, as subtly different shades of the same colors. Ritchie Zellon has spared no expense in gathering an impressive array of talent spanning several cultures. The result is an engaging mix of Peruvian ethnic styles and contemporary harmonic language accented with stellar musicianship.
