notes
Michael Zampi has become an acoustic solo artist after performing in numerous styles of bands for many years. He writes, performs, sings, records, plays guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, percussion, steel drums, and produces and engineers.
His style is influenced by James Taylor, Artie Traum, John Mayer, Josh Kelly, and Torcuato Mariano. Michael's music is a blend of acoustic pop with a latin/jazz thread woven through most of the songs. He also performs beautiful instrumental pieces on this CD project in a classical/latin style unlike anything you have heard before.
His lyrics are straight from the heart where he sings about his beautiful children, cherished loving relationships, loss to war, and romantic fantasy.
This CD will touch you in a very special way!

Talent shines through on this CD.
author: Adam BookThe songs on this CD are heartfelt, touching, and well written. Mike's music covers some universal themes such as peace for the world, the love of a father for his family, and keeping one's faith in love, life, and God. He has assembled a stellar set of musicians to round out this set - great vocals by Mary Madison and Steven Fischer on two of the songs and an excellent instrumental entry from Paul Harrison enhance the listening experience of this CD. Mike's own instrumental numbers are amazing to listen to - my personal favorite is "Miracle Night for Sailing." Overall, a very nice CD from the very talented Mike Zampi.
An inspiration
author: Mary MadisonI appreciate Mike's Zen nature - always ready to try a different approach, willing to explore another way to look at things, while staying solidly in his own values. His boundless energy matches his heart. And his music continues to mature and evolve. It is a privilege to witness the unfolding.

Music speaks to all of us in different ways. For some, we find a lyric that resonates within us. For others, it may not be the words, but rather, the melody, harmony or the timber of a voice or instrument that inspires us. One song can offer a combo-platter of nuances, spices and flavors that offer a little bit of something for everyone. Micahel Zampi's CD speaks to me mostly in the realm of authenticity. In alignment with my appreciation for genuineness, I feel it is important that I also express myself honestly in this review. Although I have a different preference, "musically", I must praise Michael for his courage to speak his Truth in his music. He writes about what matters most to him; family, Spirit, nature, peace. And to me, those are things that matter most in life, too. The title of his CD, "The Son Always Rises" aptly describes this project's content. Michael is also an grounded source of inspiration for those who wish to actualize their dreams. He is a go-getter who is not afraid to try and is willing to take the vital risks that manifest in a joyful, abundant, authentic life. His lust for life is clearly evident in his music. Departing from the rigidity of the corporate world, Michael has taken on music as an integral part of his livelihood. Instrumentalist first, Michael Zampi decided to embrace his fear and frustration with singing; another brave step and an admirable effort in his musical voyage. He steps out and expresses himself vocally on this CD. "Very Fondly Yours," "Our Precious Lives" and "By the Water" are cleanly executed instrumentals pieces that I discovered to be very calming. His engineering skills are equipped with the knack for capturing the warmth of an acoustic guitar quite well, down to the squeak of the strings -- you can almost smell the guitar's woody essence.:) For me, personally, I dig that *real* flavor. If you are looking for authenticity and for inspiration to "go for it" when you feel fear about embracing your true self, this is the CD for you. And if you are a proud dad who loves being a father? You'll connect with Michael Zampi. ~ Mary Byrd Brown, www.marybyrdbrown.com

Mike has assembled a very heartfelt and personal project. It's full of love. He's a skilled guitarist, and plays subtle piano, too. This CD shows an earnest, kind and interesting soul who's devoted to his sons and wife. This is truly a family album, a wonderful gift to his loved ones.

In his CD The Son Always Rises Mike speaks to what fatherhood should be -- finding joy and profundity in the smallest of shared moments with one's children. Every parent who has known this joy will relate, and every parent who hasn't will pause to reflect on what they may be missing.
AWESOME!
author: Artie TraumI really like Mike's guitar playing. He is very musical!
