notes
"Riqmat HaZimrah" - "Embroidery of Sacred Song" is Za'atar's long-awaited 3rd CD. Follow Za'atar on its continuing exploration of the musical culture of Jewish communities originating in Arab and Muslim regions.
Za'atar's music might be your first encounter with non-Klezmer, non-European Jewish music. Allow Za'atar to take you on a tour of the Near East and North Africa to hear music that is both religiously ecstatic and contemplative, has a complexity to engage your intellect, and a rocking beat that makes you want to clap your hands and get up and dance!

This CD was totally awesome. I loves it entirely.
Excellent!!
author: Joshua KeaneThis album is truley excellent, and is one of the -best- you'll find of this kind of music! Part of its beauty and uniqueness is that it weighs heavyer on the instrumentals than the vocals. This is a must have for anyones collection!!! I ONLY WISH THAT THEIR PREVIOUS ALBUMS WERE FOR SALE!!! I think it is an utter shame and loss that their previous works are unavailable. I would buy them if I could!!!
Great CD
author: Norma ColesThis CD was a great find. I found it out by accident. I was looking for Za'atar (a seasoning for Israeli salad) and your CD baby website came up with this band. And I love ME/North African sound!!
.Great CD!

It was great!!!
author: TGThe CD was different from anything I have heard. I liked it very much and am giving the name of the group to someone in Israel who loves this kind of music. Maybe she will order it.
i like this CD a lot
author: kareni like this CD a lot...i get a happy feeling listening to the great blend of Israeli/Arabic sound. i like the unusual sound of the taqsim cuts and Baseru Nu is a warm welcome to this CD ... their treatment of Lekha Dodi is worth the price of the whole CD itself. i'll be on the lookout for future releases.
