A group of young brothers and sisters dedicated to the preservation of Indigenous Identity through music, dance and poetry. Their music captivates audiences of all ages. Performing original compositions, incorporating Jazz, Blues, Latin and Classical Western styles, Yarina has become one of the few groups to represent "OTAVALO NATIVES" (tribal affiliation) in such international scale. They are recipients of the title "Ambassadors of Indigenous Ecuadorian Performers" granted by the Department of Culture, Quito, Ecuador and have traveled throughout their native country of Ecuador as well as Colombia, Europe and the United States. Their performances include the Grand Openning of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian in Washington DC., the 4th NAMMYS at the Sandia Casino in Albuquerque, NM., in which they were nominated for "Best World Music Category".

Talented group. Wonderful music
author: NormaThe Ecuadorian music croup Yarina is very talented. They have have lent their musical expertise to this CD by combining haunting, traditional Andean, music with their own, particular, modern interpretation. Added to the mix, they have incorporated several songs that are well known and non traditional. Yarina has poured heart and soul into this CD. They have produced a finished product that will be enjoyed by all. You will love "Sunrise."
