notes
The reunion of two former band mates (Chris Cole - vocals, Scott Dreher - Guitars) was the catalyst for the music on X-Ray Star's debut CD "Drive". Their decision to "just get together and do some writing", lead to some basic tracks and to the eventual recruitment of another former band-mate (Glen Pappas-drums) to record the full length CD, that would become "Drive". The band has since grown to a 5 piece for live shows with the addition of Greg Dabice on bass and Kerri Ann Kelleher on supporting vocals.

Haunting and hypnotic at times
author: Zanderland99This is one of those albums where you're bound to find a few songs to fall in love with upon first listen, but it's the subsequent listens that reel you in. It's quite likely, you may end up as I did, wandering about, humming the melodies for days on end. My personal favorites are Deep End, Drive and Postcards.
Smooth cool harmonys. Haunting and sweet.
author: DRB Band reviewDrive is a haunting collection of smooth harmonic pleasure. Cole's sweet voice contrasts perfectly with Pappas and Drehrer's intense rhythmic drive. Excellent work. We can't wait for their next effort!
'Postcards' is heartfelt
author: alison1104These musicians come together beautifully. The sound is a bit southwestern, yet I personally enjoy the song Postcards. I've heard it only a few times and can't wait for my new CD to arrive this week!
Provocative melodies and profound lyrics speak to a realm deep within the listen
author: The Blue Dog ReviewsAn exciting new find which can not easily be categorized within the limitations of traditional musical labels. Lead singer Cole's seductive vocal stylings blend perfectly with the driving melodies of Dreher and Pappas. Each song seems to strike an individual chord deep within the listener. A great, new, up and coming band worthy of attention. My personal favorites are Burn, Good Enough, and River... I look forward to more from this promising young band.
'Drive'n by listenable melodies
author: debalyaAs a first effort from X-Ray Star, this cd contains several notable melodies. 'Postcards', my personal favourite, is pure Cole-Dreher-Pappas magic ( with just a hint of influence from Methaney's 'ImginaryDay').
