notes

"Who do you wanna be? Where do you wanna go?" echoed the second track of Fool's Garden, Ordinary Man.

Justin Wong grew up in the most ordinary of homes, in the most ordinary school, deep in the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. By 16, his mind had been immersed into a ceaseless flow of song, hence his black faded guitar and six years of piano education became his bedfellows. A dozen penned tunes later, ordinary was no longer enough.

His first musical endeavor was an album project with his schoolmate, Ephraim Ritikos, aptly named 'The Aspiring Artist'. The production went only as far as gaining recognition from friends and discovering their musical edge. As Justin moved on in songwriting, 'The Aspiring Artist' has lost its place in his chest of prideful treasures.

As he pressed on to find himself, the flow of song in his head had never left him. In February 2006, he emerged onto an indie stage in the heart of his hometown. From then on, he discovered the allure of Malaysia's independent talent, and being a part of it couldn't honor him more.

The following year, a plane awaits to take him to America, where he would pursue a degree in Advertising. His life in the outskirts of Baltimore, Maryland gave him time and space to further hone his music. Thus, in the summer of 2007, "Crowd of None" is born.
