notes
UK import..and a great one! Fans of the awesome, heavenly sounds of Neil Finn and Crowded House will absolutely go weak-knee`d hearing David William`s "One Way Ticket". Evidence, well much of the entire record but jump down and listen to "Run Rabbit Run" and "One Way Ticket" below. Listen. It`s all this wonderful. Fans of Cotton Mather, Kevin Gilbert/Toy Matinee, Squeeze and The Rembrandts will have a similar warm display of deeply-well springed thanks, as well. Why? Sharply crafted, silky smooth melodies, sublime hooks that quake the soul and warmly sung vocals in the Finn-vein. The whole album brims with gorgeous songs, soulful vocals, feather-light rhythms and passionate spirit that is not over-wrought or desperate. There`s a George Harrison-feel on some other songs here, which would explain the fact that "One Way Ticket" is very comfortable in its own shoes.
"Edinburgh, Scotland`s David William proves he has the pop goods with his extraordinary debut album One Way Ticket. If I didn`t know better (and I suppose I truly don`t), I`d swear this was Neil Finn putting out an album under a pseudonym. Not only does William sound like Finn (at least as much as anybody this side of Shane Nicholson), his songs have the effortless pop grace of Finn`s best work." - absolutepowerpop.blogspot.com
"This is one heck of a gem!! David William not only has a great voice but also backs it up with some great lyrics. The opening track "Now and Then" has a haunting sound almost like John Lennon. Overall the production of the this disc is amazing. The riffs and the lyrics are very catchy and keep you listening from the first track to the last track.!" - Kangar Radio International

Beautiful, well-crafted melodies
author: Scott Menefee, lead singer, Copperdown - www.copperdown.comOne Way Ticket is a brilliant debut album - well crafted, tight, catchy melodies, superb production and great vocals. The arrangements and texture are a joy to hear. The sound is somewhat reminiscent of Cotton Mather, which of course means it's pretty Beatlesque. David's voice is perfect for his music, and the vocals sit just right in the mix. Most of all, though, the tunes are incredibly satisfying to hear. "Come and Go" especially is fantastic. This is the best album I've picked up in a long time... I love it.
