Finally, a damnable 12 years later, here it is... and it's even better!!!! Unlike Tricycle, you won't need a while to discern the full depth of their interplay and extrapolations on simple chords (something they inherited from The Feelies, via Velvet Underground), as this recording is popping at the seams (kudos producer James Mastro, guitarist of recently reunited Bongos).

Wild Carnation was founded by Richard Barnes (Electric and acoustic guitars), Christopher O'Donovan (Drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Brenda Sauter (The feelies, Speed the Plough, The Trypes) on bass and vocals. Richard and Christopher went on to join Speed the Plough for the "Mason's Box" and "Marina" cd's released by East Side Digital, Minneapolis. Mn. Anne Hopkins (Mini-Compact Farfisa Organ) joined Wild Carnation in 1999.

Wild carnation in a super bus
subtltey that varies and moves
author: Victor CamilloThese musicians are really talking to each other, building with a kind of subtlty that varies and moves. Interesting new ideas resonate from one another. The music is very tight and constructed with depth. I have listened to this album many times and always find new things. Stay with it, there is much more to be done down the road, I can't wait.
Super Bus is a triumph!
author: fan from orange county nySuper Bus is a triumph! A great mix of catchy pop and psychedelic gems. The guitars of Rich Barnes grab the ear and never let go. The moving bass lines of Brenda Sauter over the steady beat of Chris O’donovan make for a powerful and dynamic duo of a rhythm section. The addition of Anne Hopkins on Farfisa organ really ties it all together yet separates it from Wild Carnation’s wonderful previous release Tricycle. The songs are infectious with great hooks and melodies, and the soulful vocals of Brenda Sauter steer the way.
