notes

Jonathan Sarty, a Maine native is known for his contributions to folk, rock, and honky tonk music. Playing a wide variety of originals and covers. From the great Pacific to the mighty Atlantic. From the windblown treetops of the high Sequoia to the frosted needles of the old white pines ...The WHITE MOUNTAIN BOYS ...
have played their way into the hearts of music lovers of all ages.
The White Mountain Boys consist of four stand-alone greats who have come together, "Teamed Up" if you will, to create a musical show which has both entertained and captured a wide range of audiences.
The band covers an excellent variety of Old Time tunes and kicks it up with four on the floor steam locomotive energy making it next to impossible to stop one's foot from tapping or hands from clapping. Then the group will unfold itself into a slow dance with romance which will make you want to grab your girl and slip out onto the floor. Their original material will stop you on your heals and kick you back in your chair.
Featuring slide guitar, rhythm guitars, stand up bass, vocals, and harmonica this group of young but seasoned entertainers will certainly make you feel it was worth the trip, no matter how far you've come.
There are so many things to like about The White Mountain Boys that we could never list them all. Come on out and see for yourself.

SINGER / SONGWRITER / GUITAR
Jonathan Sarty was born and raised on the Maine/ New Hampshire line. With his powerful baritone and solid guitarwork Jonathan captures the fundamental truism of folk music while blazing into a well mixed and methodical blend of traditionals, rock, gospel swing, and honky tonk. His original material consists of innovative and unique chord progressions accompanied by lyrics which speak with certainty and clarity symbioticly with a voice which is strong and clear. Jonathan is known to grab a harmonica in many keys pulling on your ears with the rhythm of a steam locomotive. Simple and clean, straight and true Jonathan brings it home to you.

STANDUPBASS/ BACKUP VOCALS
Sir Pinkerton has vitality, skill ,and is the backbone of the group. Among his various skills are electric bass, drums, acoustic guitar, vocals, and the standup acoustic bass.

GUITAR / MANDOLIN / BACKUP VOCALS
Joshua Ramsey drives the band with his electric guitar wailings and enthousiasm. Known also for his pickin' on the mandolin, Josh strings together these boys with the attack of a steam locomotive bearing down the tracks.

HARMONICA / DOBRO / BACKUP VOCALS

Bear comes from a long line of serious musicians and adds to the mix a blend of soulfull Blues and rich counterpoint. A New England native, Bear has done it all!

Sounds like you guys recorded this album up around the foothills to the gates of hell! Hope all this wonderful March weather has inspired you guys to write the next beautiful ballad about frostbitten extremities. Maybe something like I've got a bone(r). Loved playing with you guys. Thought we'd let you know our album will be out the first of the month, and we've started the next one.

  • A diverse grouping of tunes, all with unique takes

Some tunes GRAB you fast, some of the others are pleasant listening for rainy days and cold cold nights. The lead guitar work is slick as is the bass line through-out this CD.But its the lead singers voice that takes it over the top!Reminds me of an early Elvis. For their first CD its a "keeper",but I think the next one will be the one that will take me further as a full time fan shouting their name from a mountain top.
