Album Notes

"Dance Hall Days" is a largely instrumental program of vintage dances including marches, two steps, foxtrots, tangos and rumbas. This is perfect for your dance party of just for easy listening. Ian Whitcomb (accordion, piano, ukulele and vocals) is accompanied by his Bungalow Boys, an ensemble ranging from a quintet to a full-blown orchestra. Several of the tracks are conducted by David Raksin, the famous composer for such movies as "Laura" and "The Bad and the Beautiful". For a full biography of Ian Whitcomb, from his 1960s rock years to his Tin Pan Alley present, visit his website at ianwhitcomb.com. Ian has provided songs for 12 released movies, including "The Cat's Meow": several tracks from this Peter Bogdanovich picture, starring Kirsten Dunst and Eddie Izzard, can be found on "Dance Hall Days". You can watch Ian as Dr Santee in his latest movie, "Open House", which features his song, "I'm A Gent" on the end credits. The film stars not only Ian but also Anthony Rapp ("Rent") and Sally Kellerman. Rent it now from Blockbuster!
