Joe West is a true story teller and a perfect character in this American dream. With deep roots in New Mexico, he paints this landscape in song with a familiar ease and a comforting grace. At the same time, he employs outrageous fiction to create a world almost more life like than the real one.

JOE WEST is a singer/songwriter from Santa Fe, New Mexico. Some have dubbed him a "trailer park crooner" and others say he's a "time-traveling-Mark Twain-gone-punk." Whatever you call him, Joe West's humorous, beer-drenched tales of love, booze and UFO's have been winning over crowds from New York City to Austin,Texas.

From 1998-2001 Joe, along with his band The Sinners, rose to the top of the highly competitive Austin Music scene, earning enthusiastic reviews, media awards and a regular spot at Austin's renowned Continental Club. At The Continental, Joe shared the stage with Texas legends like Mojo Nixon, Dale Watson, Wayne "The Train" Hancock, and many others. There, he amassed such a following that he nearly swept the Austin Chronicle's Readers Poll in 2000. The album "Jamie Was A Boozer" was rated a Four Star Album by the Austin Chronicle and one of the Top Texas Albums of the Year.

In 2001, Joe moved back to his home town of Santa Fe where he quickly became a local mainstay, playing weekly at the infamous Cowgirl Hall of Fame.

While playing in Santa Fe, Joe caught the attention of Frogville Records, who signed him to their label and supported the recording of SOUTH DAKOTA HAIRDO, a CD which earned much praise and in 2004 was honored as one of the best albums of the year by The New Mexico Music Industry Awards

Joe now leads The Joe West Trio, a national touring band which features ex-Mary and Mars member Ben Wright on lead guitar and a handsome young man named Noah Baumeister on upright bass.

Together with the bubble machine, the witty original songs and the standard country classics, The Joe West Trio is guaranteed to be one of the "good time bands" of all time.

As a side project, Joe has created The Intergalactic Honky Tonk Machine which he calls his "solo, time traveling, musical device". With the use of musical "loops" , a small Casio keyboard, acoustic guitar and other electronic items, Joe tells his narrative tales with the hopes of entertaining and transporting listeners along the vast time line of American music.

May be worth more than the three stars once it has been listened to more. You know what they say, who, i don't know, if it sounds good right away its pop. Joe is most certainly not pop. He has developed his thang and has done good. Keep it up my man.
