Cool and rarefied

Unlike any other jazz album I can think of.
author: yeti researchAlthough it has some references to certain past masters, I can't really think of another jazz album that sounds quite like this one. Not necessarily free jazz like the "squealing energy" of Albert Ayler or Peter Brotzmann, closer to the controlled flow of Ornette Coleman but with a focus on themes from the likes of Bartok. Interesting arrangements, solid musicianship: a movie for the mind.
