About LAWRENCE WELTON
At the early age of 13 years old, a young Lawrence Welton developed a unique affinity for music. To appease this gift, he began to study a variety of instruments, including voice, guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. Welton went on to study music theory & harmony at Malcolm X College in Chicago under the tutelage of the late Bruce Hayden, a renowned violinist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Lawrence continued his studies at the Institute of New Cinema, where he majored in Record Production and Music as Business. Being recognized as an outstanding percussionist, Lawrence has performed with such artist as (THE BIRTH OF SOUL),(THE CHOSEN FEW, the latin group(PANAMA,feat Israel torres)and (Smoke City), on their release Dreams. In the early 80's, Lawrence co-founded the group (RAZZMATAZZ) along with friend and bassist(Anthony Robinson). The group put out a 12in LP that featured 2 songs (SET IT OUT)and (SUNNY)which were very popular at various clubs in the chicago area. His talents also began to make room for him when he moved to Los Angeles, California and was called upon to play for Blues Great, Vernon Garrett. In the early 90s, Welton relocated to Dallas, Texas and began playing for Malaco recording artist, Jackson Day Connection. To begin branching out and utilizing his skills as a producer, Lawrence then teamed up with Spectrum One Productions, a Dallas based production team founded by (Gerard Hairston & Reginald Tate). It was here Lawrence was able to showcase his talents co-producing with Bernard Wright(Who do you Love/Peace in my Neighborhood), Warren Baileys (Repossessed Love), Artist Sybil (Night and Day), and Tareska Medlocks Show You. In the mid- 90s, Lawrences gift as a songwriter was tapped when he penned the single I want you, performed by artist Antoine Smith for About Time Records (UK). The single was released on a compilation disc featuring Rosie Gaines, former lead singer for "Prince", and it also featured the vocal group, "The Debarge". In 2005, Lawrence Welton pulled his talents under one hat and formed Ensight Records, wherein his first full project, R.S.V.P hits stores in 2006. Under the umbrella of Ensight Records, Welton also plans to release a full length Faith compilation album. In March 2006, Lawrence received an honorable mention in "Modern Drummer" magazine from his High School friend and Studio great drummer, "Michael White". White named Lawrence as one of his drum heroes. (Pg.91).

Very very promising

Yeah like this CD. I love the soulful tracks on this CD and what an opening track (Good Loving) that is getting heavy rotation in my CD player, Keep in Touch & Autumn Love also are excellent tracks. Keep on is a great two stepper.... RSVP is a really smooth ballad, very R Kelly can see this track on a 12 play of today. A couple of bubblegum tracks that personally do not appeal. Overall very promising. 4 stars.
