A Maryland-based singer and songwriter by way of Ivor, VA, Tamara Wellons is proof that a little southern charm will get you far in the big city. Singing for as long as she can remember, Tamara has performed throughout the DC metropolitan area and was recently featured on www.garageband.com as "Track of the Week."
A multi-dimensional artist, the many sides of Tamara Wellons are apparent in her live shows and debut EP, "introducing...Tamara Wellons." Whether paying homage to standards like "Fly Me to the Moon," espousing the poetic offerings of Rumi's "Spring Giddiness" or reflecting on life with originals like, "Finally" and "Ferry Ride," Tamara's refreshing approach to music is both enlightening and entertaining.
With her combination of jazz, R&B, and soul, Tamara is able to take the listener on an audio voyage that warms the heart, stimulates the mind and reminds us of what it means to live and love.

author: Nat Law/POEM-CEESi really dug this project, and i suggest that y'all cop it before her next jont so your inner hipster can gloat about how you were up on TWellons WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back when... gruve song, fly me, ferry ride, and lemme stop before i name every damn song! this is the start of something special.

This "fly me to the moon" has me bubbling all over like waiting for a date U know will turn out memsmorizing,joyest and magical! This is a must get CD. Tamara's voice stands out crystal clear, and had me ready for a romantic adventure. WOW! A rare fine, an "original" treasure.

Short, but oh so sweet. Fly me to the Moon's an old, old friend, but this, along with the tracks that follow, constitutes an acquaintance that just seems to get better with time. Happening, vivid and alive, and yet, perhaps despite the chrystal vocal after all, strangely yet refreshingly timeless - a classic.

TWellons has the pure vocal talent to breeze through refreshingly modern versions of Fly Me To the Moon and Corcovado, but it's the spare and tastefully produced Spring Giddiness that truly showcases her talent for effortlessly bringing the emotion out of a piece. By the time you reach Gruve Song? HA! You've just been Introduced to your cd players new best friend... (and i'ma save that 5th star as motivation to hurry up and record a full-length cd!)
