Music to ease the pain.

notes

One hour of original music and classical favorites to ease the pain of mourning by offering expression to a variety of moods from grief to resignation to determination.

Everybody’s favorite, the Largo of Handel, is the funeral march from “Xerxes.” It is here played without the last few repetitions.

The popular Ave Maria of Schubert is frequently sung at funerals. It is here arranged for cello solo and chamber orchestra.

The heart-wrenching Largo of Archangelo Corelli is from his famous Sonata Op. 5 No. 8 for violin and continuo and is here arranged for solo violin and orchestra. This recording may be unique in that the piece is played without repeats.

The Adagio is the second movement of Alessandro Marcello’s celebrated Oboe Concerto in D Minor.

Another widely popular piece, nicknamed the “Air on the G String,” is from Bach’s Suite for Orchestra in D. This recording is probably unique in that the piece is performed without repeats.

“The Last Leaf” was inspired by the poem by Oliver Wendell Holmes.

This CD is in standard Redbook commercial-format and will play on any device that plays CDs.
