Mr. Hickson likes what he hears....Talk to my son....Of course I had to show you the ropes:)

  • Playin' It Cool

I've been a huge fan of wayne Nicholson since 1971 when I booked HORSE for a highscool dance. Over the years, Wayne has always impressed me as a significant singer in terms of Canada's Rock and Blues scenes. I have always rated Nicholson's vocals up there with the likes of Jimmy Hall and Bobby Tench. Unsung Hero comes to mind when I think of Wayne's contribution to music these past 3 decades. Horse, Oakley, Grand Falloon, a solid solo career and Producer round out my respect for Wayne Nicholson. Playin' It cool is further testament to his strengh, passion and commitment to music.

  • Nice to hear your voice again after all these years
    author: Shirley Sapsford

I have know about Wayne for about twenty years and it is like turning back the hands of time to hear his incredible voice again after all these years. I hope you are doing well ,my old friend . In case you have forgotten my name think back to the old Harlot days and your adventures in Lethbridge , Alberta . I am so glad to see you are still rocking. You sound as good today as when I first saw you in the Alec Arms all those years ago.

  • What can ya say, this is just GREAT
    author: Rob Crewe

I'm embarrased to admit that I only learned about Wayne and some of his past projects just in the last 5 or 6 years, but in that time have been listening to as much as I can and have been completely amazed with both the songwritting, and energy! I've been a fan ever since.

  • Superb !
    author: Stephen Marsh

An unsung hero if ever there was one, Wayne Nicholson is unquestionably one of the pre-eminent Canadian vocalists/rockers. From the early days with Horse onto Oakley (kick ass rockers, who everyone should hear) and his solo career (4 albums deep), Nicholson is in the same league as Paul Rodgers. Playin It Cool is Wayne's best yet! "Get Out Now" rocks as hard as anything he's ever done and the writing with guitarist James Logan is top notch. I can't recommend Wayne Nicholson high enough. Only thing better is catching him live. What we need now Wayne is the DVD....bring it on home.

I agree with all the above. I've followed Wayne for 35 years and he just keeps getting better. The strong Nicholson pipes, the writing, the band. All good!

  • Pure Rock & Pop; Powerful Spine-tingling Vocals;Inspired Guitar!
    author: I. Legate

If you like pure Rock & Roll, with truley powerful vocals and excellent musicianship this CD is for you. Nicholson and co-writer, co-producer, guitarist James Logan will bring memories of 70's pop rock, but with present day production and originality.Influences range from Rock, R & B, Pop and Blues. Uptempo and mid-tempo pop/rock that will be enjoyed by male and female listeners. And yes there are a couple of powerful ballads that will send a tingle up your spine. (and i don't usually like ballads!)This is great for parties, drivin' or just plain listenin'. Crank it up!

Wayne sings real Rock and Roll the way it was intended to be sung. The commitment to the music is evident in every word sung and every lyric written. This artist is a true master of the Genre. His live performances are equally as professional and dedicated. Here's to Ya and many more. M.M.

As far as Canadian artists are concerned, Nicholson is part of the rockin' elite and the music on his latest CD is proof of that. From the jive-inducin' rhythm of Good to Have, to the touching ballad Be Well, Nicholson and his songwriting/producing collaborator, James Logan, have delivered a superior product to the dissemenating music fan. Artistry of the highest quality. Highly recommended.
