notes
Finally, Iowa power rock trio House Of Large Sizes has captured their furiously fantastic live performance on disc. I.O.W.A., a twenty-two track collection of live favorites with all of the Iowa attitude and HOLS style. Punk, Grunge, and Alternative have all come and gone while HOLS continues to incorporate elements of each, without being stereotyped as any one. HOLS remains one of the most innovative and edgy bands of the independent rock scene.

Studio versions better
author: Charles Dipsy-Cake JonesI was not surprised to find that compared to other HOLS albums, this one was pretty, well, live-sounding (not in a good way). Of HOLS in general I am a fan, and have collected three cds of theirs (heat miser, one big cake, glass cockpit; they're great) so I think this one should never be used to try and showcase the talent of this amazing band.
