Great Improv Tool
author: Ray CharbonneauI think this is one of the great improv Cds as well as a useful tool for chops building. The length of it also makes for a meditional CD, smooth and relaxing. His playing on the last track shows his abilities as well. Thanks!!!
Great Tool!
author: Kiku CollinsI had the pleasure of meeting and playing with Walter White a couple of years ago, and am thrilled to finally have purchased his long tone cd. I use long tones quite a bit and find them boring - or at least I did. What a simple but necessary concept to keep going and even make long tones interesting! Every trumpet player should have this cd and use it often. Thank you Walter! You rock!
Great for focussing sound
author: Rosie TurnerI love this CD as it helps me focus my sound at the start of the day, gets the cobwebs out, and is a relaxing warm down at the end of the day. It's also brilliant for breath control, and is just a really enjoyable, meditative way to practise long tones. Would highly recommend!
Exceeds Expectations
author: Paula BuermeleI play the flute and my flute teacher recommended this CD. It is GREAT! I love the support the music provides to my long tone practice and working to match Walter's tone is helping me improve my tone quality every day. It works beautifully for making this part of daily practice very enjoyable.
A great CD!!
author: David E. Harris, D.M.A.I’ve really enjoyed playing along with it for scales, arpeggios, improvisation practice, etc. I play it on the way to work and do some lip buzzing to it. I think it’s great!! I’ve produced relaxation music in the past but never thought of producing something like that for long tone, etc. instrument practice. Your playing on track 4 is great!! Wonderful idea!!
Amazing benefits, a true necessity!
author: Carl Evans, Interlochen Arts AcademyThe Long-tones CD has helped my playing in soo many ways, the only thing I regret is not discovering it sooner. Thanks a bunch Walter for all your help!

Center the tone. Center the mind. Awesome!
author: Gabriel GarrickThis long tone accompaniment is indeed all that these other guys have said about it and MORE: I have found it not only of value technically but also as a means of Meditation and centering the mind. Lovely Walter. Thank you!!
- author: Richard Boelter
After taking a year off from the horn, doing this with my morning coffee is a great way to center the tone, set the chopes, and tune it up. My chops are coming back strongly and I should be in full swing in a short time!

Best thing I have found in 40 years of playing
author: Skip Gunther, Trumpet, Julius Dick Band, AtlantaWhere have I been? I just came across this and it is amazing. In a week my chops are better than they ever have been in more than 40 years of playing, and with less work! I'm a believer!!
What a buy!
author: Gordon FRecieved the CD super fast. Makes long tones a lot less boring and I felt the difference in my chops in just a few days. Highly recommended.
Great for chop development
author: Tony ZarrilloI have been doing these long tone exercises for two weeks now , and I do notice a marked improvement in my range and endurance . The best way to use this method is by incorporating these exercises into your daily routine so that the other aspects of your playing do not suffer . This C.D. is not a replacement for your total practicing sessions , but it is a very effective use of time and effort.
Walter White CD
author: Jennifer FletcherI got this CD super quick and it is definitely helped long tones not be so boring! It helps me relax and I feel like I am in a yoga class!
Excellent tool!
author: o.j.I have finally tried the "famous" extended long G exercise with success! You know the one found in Cat Andersons Method? When I first got the Anderson book I tried it, but only once - it was too boring. Recently two things changed my view on this exercise: 1.) Craig Morris (former principal with Chicago Symph.) allowed me to translate an article, "Fundamentally Speaking", where he also talks about endurance in connection to this "long tone G". This brought back my interest. 2.) I ordered a CD by Walter White called "Long Tone Accompaniment". Using this CD, I have been doing extended long tone exercises for some weeks now, every morning for 20 min. It works! ..and as White says, it also does some good things to your sound.

This CD is AMAZING! If you're looking to obtain a big fat sound with a lot of core, look no further. I warm up in the morning and warm down softly in the evening with WWLTA every day and I find that it's helps keep my sound even in all registers (not to mention it's very relaxing - ala meditation). Whether I'm playing in the extreme upper register with a big band or sweetly in the low register with a chamber ensemble, I feel confident that the sound will be big and resonant. WWLTA is a must have for all brass players!

Great help for long tone studies
author: Jan SzurmantThis CD is a great, enjoyable tool for doing your long tones. It is well produced and the booklet gives you some information on how to practice with the CD. Roddy Lewis recommended it to me and I totally agree with him. Check it out!
Totally changed the way I approach my horn.
author: John KorsrudThis CD has changed my life. After years of inconsistent chops, this warm-up technique has reinforced the proper and most natural way of approaching the horn. It has also cut down on the time I need to practice because I am playing with much more efficiency. I am amazed such a simple concept can yield such fantastic results. Thank you, Walter! Excellent product - well worth the investment!
author: Dr. Michael GuevaraI read about the CD while reading a trumpet forum...and I'm glad I did! Long tones have always been a nemesis, because they are so boring. Walter White's CD has taken masterful strides at eliminating the boredom aspect of long tones! The quasi-new age backgrounds add a great dimension and make for a wonderful listening and practicing environment! In a word (well two), "well done!" Took a lesson from Roddy Lewis bought CD on his recommendation
author: Steve Brooks Edinburgh UKThis CD was recommended to me by Roddy Lewis (Wales UK)I have just started using it for long tone / breathing through the nose exercises find it not only gets my chops working (great workout) I find I slip into a kind of mindful meditation throughout the exercise because of the emphasis on breathing and tone.
For a vocalist, this CD is a must have for warm-ups!

author: Bob DeSavageI'm very pleased with the WWLTA. It gives me a chance to stretch out and not be governed by a strict regimen.
This CD will surely improve your chops and soul.

Walter White's long-tone accompaniment CD is an indispensible tool in helping to
author: Jens Lindemann"Walter White's long-tone accompaniment CD is an indispensible tool in helping to attain the sweet spot on the trumpet. I have used it faithfully on the road for years as a more interesting way to get centred with my horn. When used intelligently, it reinforces the most basic concepts of playing trumpet; rhythmic breathing, consistent air flow, and resonant sound"-- Jens Lindemann--Canadian Brass/UCLA/www.trumpetsolo.com
