notes

Wally Warning was born on the Antillian island of Aruba as the son of Guyanan parents. As a boy he knew that he always wanted to devote his life to music. In the company of Venezuelan fishermen he secretly learned to play his first instrument, the Cuatro, a small rhythm guitar with four strings. Soon he began to copy the singing of his pop idol at the time Otis Redding and made a name for himself in Aruba playing with different bands. At the age of seventeen he went to Europe. In the Netherlands he won the Polydor Songcontest where his title "the world needs love" entered the charts. In England his cover version became a hit as well.
Musically Wally Warning developed further, learned several instruments and created his own style of playing the bass. Soon thereafter he played with "Sam and Dave" and the blueslegend "Lightnin Hopkins".

Wally's latest Album "Slow Down" is a universal world message and a jorney. Wally unplugged has been electrifying audiences throughout Europe and the Caribbean with his acoustic genius.
He does not feel commited to any particular category. It is his gift to mix different musical elements.

  • one of a kind tune - made me speechless!
    author: Earwin

i was just browsing through the latest releases on CDbaby and was listening to the samples, started suddenly to listen and listen again - the opener Slow Down impressed me like no other tune did since a long time, less is better, Wally Warning showed us, there is an amazing easyness in this song, which even cleared the eyes about my own life The world we have is a tune which should get airplay over and over and over and over... Wally Warning brought me back to the roots but not with any ballyhoo, just simple and clear and never had the feeling that someone wants to teach, but share love, nature and brotherhood with me! thanks a bunch for that Album and maximum Respect to Wally Warning who enlighted me somehow!
