notes
John Walker is an award winning singer/songwriter/guitar player who has performed his brand of traditional country/folk/blues music across the USA for over 30 years. He is a long-time touring artist with the Nebraska Arts Council's Touring Artist Program and was invited to the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in 1997 as Nebraska's representative to the Center's Statehood Days Concerts. He was voted Blues Artist of the Year in 2001 and 2002 by listeners to KZUM radio in Lincoln, NE. He has recently released a 3-cd box set of 50 songs spanning a 30-year period: John Walker: From An Okie Boy To The Loup River - 1975-2005. Robert Butler wrote in The Kansas City Star: "I can't help but feel if Woody Guthrie were alive today he'd be crazy about Walker's music...With his rich, deep, folksie voice and his love of '30's blues, Walker seems to have stepped sraight from the Dust Bowl days...he knocks your ears off..." In The Flinthills Folk Music Guild Newsletter, Don Koke said, "an explosive, rollicking, foot-stomping romp tht promises to make you tight, keep you jumping 'til the broad daylight."
