notes
A year and a half after the debut release, Woe Is Meat, Wake the Bear releases If We Survive This Rapture. From aliens, chickens and surviving the 1980s – to a dog, a god, and an oggling man-boy – If We Survive This Rapture wears its heart on its sleeve – without the cheese.
The sound weaves assorted keyboards, guitars, rhythms, 1970s womens choirs, gin-soaked vocals and dog whines. Up-beat poppers. Low-key stoppers. Frailly held together with stuck-in-your-head glue.

Good stuff
author: Garrett BurnettIf We Survive This Rapture has a swirling sonic rock sound. The songs move between mournful and defiant, but all of them feature layers of sound. The lyrics are interesting, not covering the general bland pop topics. While several songs stand out (Chicken, Fighter, 80s Babies), the album his a nice sound on the whole.
