notes
Guitarist and singer Eric Wakely has been working as a soloist on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii since 1994. He's worked most of that time as the pool-side guitarist at the Hilton Waikoloa Village and the Outrigger Waikoloa Beach in addition to convention work for Tihati Productions at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, the Hapuna Beach Prince, the Mauna Lani Bay, the Orchid at Mauna Lani and the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai.
The musical focus of his solo act is island and beach music. He mixes contemporary Hawaiian music with Caribbean pop, adult contemporary and instrumental Latin and surf guitar. His influences include: Jimmy Buffett, Keola Beamer, James Taylor, The Ventures, Santana, Harry Belafonte, Crosby Stills & Nash, Cecilio & Kapono and Bob Marley among others. His repertoire includes songs from all of those artists and others in addition to some original music.
Eric has been playing music most of his life. He graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1991 with a Bachelors degree in Music, and has been making his living as a performing musician ever since. He works with a variety of bands as a lead guitarist, but performs mainly as a soloist.
Eric has a genuine love of the ocean and the islands, and it shows in his music. He is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain (100 ton master), and when he's not playing music, he's gathering inspiration sailing.

Just Another Day in Paradise
author: Joyce RhinehartFirst time ordering from CD BAby...what an awesome company. Got it quickly and a pleasure to do business with them. Love this CD. We had just come home from our vacation in Hilton Head Island where every day there was Just Another Day in Paradise which is why I selected this CD. I needed to "feel the feeling" and this CD sure helped.
The only CD needed on the boat...
author: Mark VandemmeltraadtFinially got the CD player installed on the boat. With a weeks worth of sun and 90 degrees, this was the only CD I needed to listen to on the boat.
Caution, you will want to quit your job and head South!
author: Greg FreemanI bought this in November, it's snowing out. By the warmth of the woodstove, we danced every song. Feeling like we were two lost Caribbean souls. Great music, just what we needed. This one will be on the Boat come spring.
Gave it as a gift, and it was loved!
author: Jenean JonesEverything was great. I gave it as a gift, and the person receiving it was very excited to get it.
Great cruising music!
author: HeatherIf you close your eyes while listening to this great CD you can almost imaging the water rushing past the hull and feel the motion of the waves. Thanks for the memories!
