~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s been such a long time, as the song says, but now with the release of V-Project’s second CD titled New Machine, V-Project is back! This time plugged in, amped up, and ready to give fans the full-on guitar oriented melodic rock that so many have asked for.
With a tip of the hat to the 1970’s era of bands from Aerosmith to Zeppelin, V-Project has chosen the tried and true blues-rock formula as the fuel that powers the New Machine CD. It is melodic, album-oriented rock that has been overhauled and retrofitted for the new millennium, all the while remaining true to the guitar oriented AOR style that V-Project comes from.
Platinum selling MSG vocalist Robin McAuley (currently lead vocalist for 80’s rockers Survivor, as well as McAuley’s own band Bleed) returns to handle vocal duties on 4 New Machine tracks. For McAuley fans it’s a safe bet to say you’ve never heard Robin quite like this. And, stepping up to the mic for the first time on CD, the man behind the machine, David Vaccaro takes lead vocal on 5 tracks.
V-Project is not (and never will be) a current flavor of the month band. If that’s what you’re searching for, V-Project may not be for you. If however, you’re looking for a band that blends the urgency of today’s music with the guitar-oriented bands of another time and place, then put this CD into your stereo and power up your New Machine!
Robin McAuley rules
author: Chris KaiserI purchased this CD mainly for the vocals by Robin McAuley but David Vaccaro sound just fine too. This is really good CD with well written rockers and a great cover of The Stake by The Steve Miller Band.
