Virginia Wagner's latest release!
Virginia had already established her roots firmly in the Greenwich Village folk-pop scene when she released her first CD, "BROKEN HEARTED ANGEL."
The CD was immediately embraced by folk radio programmers and DJs across the country, and cuts were aired on over 400 radio stations. It has been the featured CD on "Acoustic Woods," and on many other syndicated shows.
Soon after the release of her debut CD, Virginia was honored at the New Jersey Folk Festival by being one of six singer-songwriters chosen to represent the State of New Jersey.
John Weingart, host of "Music You Can't Hear on the Radio," a show that has aired since 1974 on WPRB-Princeton, NJ listed the Broken Hearted Angel CD as "one of the ten most interesting and wonderful CDs" he played for the first time. He is not alone in that opinion.
Gene Shay, an on-air personality at WHYY and WXPN in Philadelphia and the co-founder of the Philadelphia Folk Festival, is an enthusiastic and vocal supporter of Virginia Wagner since first broadcasting her music.
Dirty Linen Magazine called Ms. Wagner "an inventive and interesting singer songwriter, well worth listening to."
Influenced by songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Bruce Hornsby, Virginia Wagner writes what she calls "verbal/musical landscapes," and although her songs explore the darker side of human emotion, her on-stage personality is remarkably sunny and her in-between song conversation frequently evokes laughter from the audience.
Being featured as top artist while touring up and down east coast venues, she appeared in Manhattan, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. She also performed at the Hard Rock Cafe and followed it with an equally majestic performance at Lee’s Palace while touring in Toronto.

With her latest release, Darkness Visible, she attends to the minefield of relationships gained and then mostly lost. She sings of achingly easy attraction followed by tangled departure, keynoting the intricacies of the human tango.
Familiar and thought-provoking
author: Lynnie MuldoonDarkness Visible is the perfect backdrop to a quiet afternoon when you are alone and the ghosts of your past are vying for attention. She addresses the ghosts in a familiar manner and by the end of the CD, you feel much better! The lyrics are thought provoking and mesmerising. While some of the songs evoke sadness or disappointment, each one seems to be crafted with love and hope.
Evocative, Rich with Meaning
author: Marty HulsebosI found myself spontaneously flowing with Virginia Wagner's songs on Darkness Visible. "Carry Me Away" was with me for hours afterward - I think it's my favorite; so much feeling in her voice. I found that to be true of all of them. If I were to use one word to describe them it would be evocative. The lyrics in all the songs are rich with meaning. "The Same" is captivating, and I really like the guitar technique; it's probably my second favorite. I like "Stand Back" for it's subtle cadence and a powerful recurring punctuation with the the words "stand back". And I love the quality of her voice in "Time Can Stand Still" - it's angelic. A work of art.
Leaves a lasting impression
author: Greg GiamettaAnother Masterpiece from Virginia Wagner and from a musician's standpoint this recording achieves organic high fidelity, the acoustic guitar technique projects wonderful crisp strummed and plucked tones you look forward to in every song, the voice is true and pure, and the songwriting etches indelible visuals on your heartstrings. After you find your favorite song on this disc, check out the previous disc Broken Hearted Angel and my favorite song from that one is The Hammer and the Anvil; a classic about a father's best efforts to raise his kids in the heart of Irish-Siciliian New York and the daughter who watches the story unfold, just as with Darkness Visible, it'll knock yer' ass right into next week-
Poetic and melodic
author: B. Aline BlanchardWe enjoyed this CD, a trip to the dark side, with a vacation in Sicily.Virginia's energy and creativity should add up to a major hit.
