  • What are you waiting for?

I agree with Warren. It's golden. There is nothing else to say.

  • Art that is intended for the pleasure of our ears.
    author: Waren in Sydney

I have said it before and I’ll say it again. There is nothing better than the raw sound of a live Violent Femmes concert recording. Not that they should abandon the recording studio. The place where listening pleasure begins. Yet when you take the Femmes and add a dash of fan to the recording its enhances the sound by saying, I am also there, rather than sober and at home. In this presentation its an in with the new, then splash around the old. My only complaint is the inclusion of Blister In The Sun. Sure its great but its way over exposed. Its a Xaviera Hollander in music. Here in Australia a car company used it in an advertisement. There is no point in saying buy this CD. If you are a fan you should have already ordered. Its as good as gold. Better than religion and it wont be unfaithful. The Violent Femmes are art for your ears.

  • I LOVE LIVE RECORDINGS... ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S VF!
    author: eldabee...

Great CD! The live recording is from 2000 which happens to be the "Hoffman" era. Guy Rocks!!! I always enjoy live recordings with an audience because it always makes me feel like I'm there. Great rendition of "In the Dark". HOD include Hani Naser and Sigmund Snopek III. Personally my favorite song on this CD is "All I Want". There is also a bonus track which is appropriate with the Easter holiday. You think you've heard everything from VF? Will we ever? Probably not! But this CD is proof that VF is timeless...

  • Awesome show

I nearly did a backflip when I saw that CD Baby was offering this CD. I was lucky enough to attend this show in April 2000 in Chicago and it was magical! The CD did a great job of capturing the vibe that night... BUT... I would have loved to have seen the amazing version of "Black Girls" that they performed that night included! They had THREE drummers on stage jamming forEVER! I can still see the lone red stage lights on Gordon when I hear this cut of "Country Death Song"! Thanks so much for the memories!!
