"Gothic Surf-tunes? Vampires on the Beach? What is this world coming to?!"
-Dr. von Helsing
Well get on your bikini and your biker jacket, because summer is just around the corner - and it's never been quite this weird! Yes indeed, sexy vampires have hit the beach (and the stage) and they call them the Vampire Beach Babes. Reliable sources have confirmed as of January the snow boarding set has already been infected, and the downtown fetish club scene has likewise been converted. Health officials are not yet sure of a cure for this rapidly spreading craze, but a certain Dr. von Helsing has suggested silver crosses, wooden stakes and lots of garlic.
At least some of this hysteria can be blamed on the inclusion of the Vampire Beach Babes underground hit 'Gothic Surf-a-rama' on the premier Gothic music compilation 'Gothic Sanctuary'. Such recognition no doubt exacerbated the spread of the Vampire Beach Babes madness. Their December 1st 2000 performance at the Opera House in Toronto was voted as second best performance of the year 2000 (second to VnV Nation and tied with Nine Inch Nails) by Gothic online community Dark Entries (www.dark-entries.com), further accelerating the spread of this scourge. Cover page mention and feature of the Vampire Beach Babes in the widely celebrated horror magazine Rue Morgue did nothing to protect the general public from this menace. Spanking in New Years 2001 with a midnight performance to 500 wanton fetish scene aficionados, at The Big Bop in Toronto, Canada, brought this insanity to a fevered pitch. Then, Halloween 2001 at the Fetish Masquerade and of course the now infamous RCA Records showcase at CBGB's Gallery in New York City! At Toronto's Velvet Underground in February 2002, the TV camera crews of BRAVO and The New Music did their part in documenting this public menace. Furthermore, the president of TROMA Entertainment (the great Lloyd Kaufman) has hand picked the VBB to write the theme song for TROMA's next worldwide release feature film "Tales From The Crapper".
Now, to follow up their critically acclaimed independent release 'Reckless Summer', the Vampire Beach Babes are gearing up for a Summer 2002 CD release of all new material. The world has much to fear!
"Can anything be done to stop this madness?!"

A treat, no trick
author: Anthony BoydI was skeptical at first, but this album really grows on you and the enjoyment persists through many listens. Great sound, and a nice addition to my collection.
Very cool gothic surf sound
author: JulienFirst of all, excuse my english. This is a very nice album. A mix between rock'n roll (The Cramps like), surf music and gothic influence. Run dangerboy run, is the best !!
Surfgoth is the new black
author: JamesThis CD is cool if you like stuff that is different and not mainstream.
Goths on the beach-who'da thunk it!
author: rnrwenchOld time rock-n-roll with a pinch o'goth and a dash o'surf and voila!! This is fun stuff, pure and simple. This band knows their roots, not just musically but kitschilly too! Definitely the band to invite to a midnight howl beach party or a cemetery wedding!
Took a risk; happily surprised...
author: Ruined SaintThis is a band I took a chance on; never heard of them or anything by them, but was looking for something new in the genre. I am quite pleased with this album. Has everything you'd expect without being tiring or rehashing over-used standards, which is exactly what you need to see to know a genre isn't dying. Especially love Tomb Mau Mau; a perfect match up with songs like Horrorpop's Horror Beach, Cramps' Surfin' Bird, 45 Grave's Surf Bat, and other undead-themed surfer music. Will definately be adding more of them to my collection.
How do you deal with Surfing Vampires David Hasselhoff?
author: MariusI've never heard about surf-goth before, and i guess that goes for you to, when you read about it here. With titles like gothic surf-a-rama, Horseshoes (Up my ass), and Tomb Mau Mau, you just know that humor has a great part in this album. But at the same time it's really good and catchy music.
Fresh, surf, rock goths AMAZEMENT
author: brentthis cd is funky fresh and amazing. with all the old recycled garbage out there this cd will awaken and refresh you, much like a big glass of coffee on a sleepy morning. Make sure u are sitting on the toilet when u first listen becuase if not u will surely shit ur pants at its amazement. if you dont have this cd then buy it now.

Gothic Surf-a-rama worth the price. Great surf music for the long, dark nights.

a good mix of rock and goth. great cd, too bad there were only 7 tracks.
catchy, but gets old rather fast
author: JohnWell, when I first listened to it I really got caught up by the lyrics and music. It was the off beat type of music I always keep an ear out for. But I have found that it got old very fast. I suppose if you popped it in the player a couple times a year it would be okay. Anyone who likes surf music will probably like this. Just be cautious about how much you listen to it.
Tasty, heavy and real groovy!
author: Big DA surprise of a CD with some heavy, tasty and groovy distinctful sounds. Tune #5 can get old, but all in all, a real good CD front to back. Get the word out on VBB! They make me want to grab a board and catch a wave.
Midnight surf party with Dracula.
author: BradEver wonder what a surf beach party would be like with Dracula and his crew? Well here`s your answer. The Vampire Beach Babes hail from Toronto(maybe that explains it) and they definitely found their niche. Goth-surf, who`d a thunk it? Nevertheless this is a fun catchy CD for those who like to wear black, even at the beach. BUT IT!
short, and semi-sweet
author: dixieas mentioned, the biggest problem with this CD is that it's short. the songs are amusing, and grooving enough to get your toes tapping, but you'll hear them over and over again. still, it's definately worth your time and cash. it kind of makes you want to hang out with frankie and annette.
Fun, groovy, but oh so short!
author: S LatendresseThe music is entertaining, very much what you'd expect from a group called Vampire Beach Babes. But man is the running time short! Basically, you can listen to the CD 3 times every hour. If you like this kind of music, it's worth the heavy rotation.
Surf-o-mania
author: TobiThis is definitely the best surf CD I have come across in a while!!! It is fun, yet it is bizarre humour! You guys rock!
It's death with an enticing glamour
author: moniqueThis is like sex on the beach but without the sand in your panties...it has riffs that make men want to screw and makes women's ovaries twist into knots...this is what we need...its the type of music that suits any mood, and anyone...this is highly recommended...just read their name...and you already want to listen
get your leather bikini's on time to do the monster mash
author: moneti cant seem to put this cd down!! im laughing, doing the twist, and rockin out all at once!! great to have the 60's style surf with a twist of vampire love!! this should be on a movie soundtrack!! cant wait for the next cd VEGAS BEACH that will be a must have as well!! im hooked thanks ricky keep rockin
Hanging ten at night...
author: Larry FausnachtVBB fills that void in gothic music: surf. While bands like Deadbolt and The Bomboras are more 50's rock, VBB owns the gothic surf field and owns it well. Each track has enough surf and enough goth to keep everyone happy with "Gothic Surf-a-rama" and "Creepy Baby Man" ruling the roost. Anyone without this CD should be buried to the neck while the surf comes in...
Gothic Surf Tunes??? You better believe it!!
author: Jessica Ocasio (gothicvixen.net)Gothic Surf Tunes??? You better believe it! VAMPIRE BEACH BABES are proof that camps can indeed have fun in the sun. Perhaps these bloodsucking ghouls are really the undead Beach Boys. Definitely a twist on the typical surf rock sounds. Quite humourous actually, but damn good none the less. It'll make your frightful frown turn upside down. Super catchy and highly energetic, you won't find another band like this. Originality is the key to this band. You should absolutely check them out!
