Born and raised in East Los Angeles, California. UPGROUND offers a fresh new musical blend of ska, reggae, punk, and salsa, which they define as “LATIN SKA”. A variation of many sounds, sure to appeal to all. Danceable, Skankable, and highly enjoyable. Wonderful combinations that will make you move and leave you wanting more. In a short period of time they have been fortunate enough to share the stage with such acts as The RX BANDITS and The Bruce Lee Band with Mike Parks, Ozomatli, Tierra,Quinto Sol, Quetzal, Viva Malpache, Yerba Tribe,B-Side Players & Burning Star to name a few. They also had the privilege to open for The Killers and The Chemical Brothers at the X-BOX/E-3 convention at The Shrine Auditorium. As many of the bands that have influenced them, The RX-BANDITS, Ozomatli, Buena Vista Social Club, Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, Sublime, NO Doubt, Quinto Sol. UPGROUND offers you a commanding horn section, along with an explosive percussion section. Their music forces you to move and groove in your place.
