notes

"ENTER" is the highly anticipated initial release from Chapel Hill, NC based label Unschooled Records. The CD is a well thought-out compilation of 14 tracks from electronic musicians representing an intersection in style, geography and time. Drawing on the talents of 12 musicians from 5 countries, ENTER provides the listener with an experience that is simultaneously diverse and comforting. Tracks that run the gamut in structure and complexity: From Decomposure's "Matches", an explosive seduction that consists entirely of samples of the artist lighting matches, to internet experimental notable doofgoblin's angst-tinged commercial debut "Frazed". Solo projects from Decomposure, doofgoblin, and Plan 29 are out now and available right here on CDBABY.

What they're saying about the artists on ENTER:

"Enter on doofgoblin's flailing robofunk craziness of "Frazed" (2:32), where shards and streams collide against spasticated rhythmics. Lower-key bleep frenzy "Interlude" is gradually infiltrated by a speckly-to-pounding rhythm, courtesy of 1st Class Lounge. More floatable, the cool dreamorgan grooves of "Calomel" soar as Plan-29's sweet musicality refracts in and out of focus, impelled by throbs and scattered percussion. Lovely!" Ambientrance.org Review of ENTER - July-2003

"All in all, this compilation does indeed give a good view on independant electronic music in the more experimental styles. All tracks are high quality stuff, and a lover of these styles will definately get a good disc when getting Enter." Electronic Music World Review of ENTER - July- 2003

"Polarized electrical sounds are rearranged and manipulated to form the basis of what is sure to be an interesting starting point for Unschooled Records' abstract direction. Enter Vol. 1.0 doesn't necessarily fall into any particular genre, but instead it highlights the experimental aspect of each artists contributions without losing its futuristic tendencies." Igloo Magazine July 2003

"3:02 Minutes of brilliantly twitchy experimental electronica" - Gods of Music review of "Matches"

  • This is great.

It's been along time since I have picked up such a well constructed album. I wouldn't have expected such an mind bending array of different artists on the same disc, and still have it mesh so well. There is IDM, dream, and even some dark dissonant metal. (my fav)track 6 Goyle. You should try this one out, it's affordable and will make your playlist if you like anything electronica.

  • It's good and original!

This CD is fresh, original, all tracks have something special, energetic, and it never bores. It's a really cheap buy. It deserves to be heard all around the world.

  • A Very Strong First Effort

I was familiar with several of the musicians on this disc from GODS OF MUSIC and ElectronicScene and they certainly didn't disappoint here. Top quality audio and great packaging all serve to make this a winner. Thanks!

  • Great Service!!!
