notes
simultaneous organisms, released on September 15, 2000, documents the fledgling years of the unpronounceable's musical development.
Recorded live over a single weekend in April 1999 in the basement of the drummer's parents' suburban Philadelphia home, this recording introduces the band's near-characteristic tonal mood, weaving melodic and unquestionably beautiful evocations of the hope and lamentation surrounding love's imminent and inevitable failure.
Bleak and inspiring, the early work of the unpronounceable stands as a testament to the group's talent and versatility, and a strong indication of the great things to come.
Performers
Pete Gustavson - vocals, guitar, upright bass
Dan Kinsley - guitar, upright bass, piano
Adam Gustavson - guitar, upright bass
Phil Guidi - drums, percussion
Reviews
"Don't take my word for it. Take theirs.
If you want to hear a group of tremendously creative and professional musicians, decades more seasoned in talent than their years should allow, you should (A) get this cd, (B) be blown away by its original sound and toe-tapping inspiration, and (C) thank me profusely for leading you (the horse) to buy the cd (the water) and beckoning you to listen (drink of its refreshing draft and become more merrier in the doing). Now that you have heard the truth and seen the light, go and let the conviviality of Simultaneous Organisms always tread before you."

"And you say that this is maddening....
Can't get that tune out of my head, it has been there for days! A great album, some very hip grooves here. And also some darker ballads, that appropriately tie the whole album together. The liner notes say that the whole shabang was recorded live with only a few overdubbs. I think music sounds better this way - in its element. I have seen these boys live, and although better live(as most music is and should be) the ablum is true to their sound. I give it four stars - highly recommended - as I am very stingy with my ratings. My favorite tracks - and we'll laugh (obviously), days like these, simmer, the showoff."

"Pleasantly Pleased.
This CD has a pleasant sound, bordering on the "bluesy" side of "coffee house" memories. The main soloist has a rich full easy listening voice, that blends in with the overall playing style of the band. One wonders what his more "upbeat" songs will do to the lstening ear. Sit with a glass of wine and "drink in" it's mellow sounds, bringing memories forward with the greatest pleasure."

"Original" is the word!
author: philly phanThere is no question about the fact that these boys are taking the old and mixing it with some of the edgiest creativity out there...coming up with a sound all their own that's simultaneously rooted in music's greatest and best. You'll not be able to stop tapping you fingers on the steering wheel as you drive with this album. Not to say that it's purely a 'driving cd'...it's good for many moments of your daily activity, particularly brushing your teeth. JK. The talent exudes from every pore here...every member is an outstanding musician in his own right, making the entire entity rock solid. I still can't believe they recorded this CD in one take over a weekend. I guess that just exmeplifies the level of passion these guys have for their music. It definitely shows! I can't wait for their next one!
A CD so welcoming, melting into it is effortless.
author: Jeremy SpiveyA seamless integration of the best aspects of numerous previously unconnected genres, this CD presents a level of creativity I've seen very little in current day bands. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is tired of the lack of experimentation in the popular music being churned out by major record labels. The talent of this band is blatantly obvious from the beginning to end of the CD.
THE greatest original band!
author: LW, Lehigh Valley, PennsylvaniaThis album is in my CD player constantly, I just cannot go more than a few days without hearing "And we'll laugh." These guys have changed the way I listen to music and I'm forever indebted. If one has an ear for superb talent and creativity, they will recognize that The Unpronounceable is the "next big thing" after hearing Simultaneous Organisms. Their live albums are also a MUST have!
