notes
This San Francisco band's music could be called 'Electronic Pop Noir.' Dark grooves with an organic twist. Featuring Jen Triano on vocals and Eamonn Flynn on keyboards. Their debut 4 song EP was recorded with engineer/programmer Paul Scriver (known for his band 'Better Daze' on Ubiquity). Influenced by Bjork, The Sundays, Zero Seven and Massive Attack among others, the music is thoughtful but always makes you move. Their first EP is presently ready for listening but is only the beginning - a full length album is in progress...

This is a rare gem.
author: justin jaxUnder really has crafted a dreamy mellow style with this CD. If you like chill out, Downtempo, or Trip-Hop you'll like this. It's dark but beautiful, very melodic with not a single bad note or melody in the whole thing. There's a real masterful blend of the acoustic elements with the electronic ones and the Vocals carry a relaxing emotion that will stay with you for days.

This is really very pretty, almost ambient dream pop. The vocals are wistful and light without being wimpy. They list The Sundays as an influence and I can really see that. There's a definite pop sensibility here, but there's a bit of a dark edge that makes this anything but mainstream.
Very cool...

author: SharonI LOVE this band. Mellow, dark music, great production and beautiful, understated vocals. Stand out tracks: Under and Keep On Moving but all 4 tracks are great.

This appetizer to the full course of what Under will offer us is one that will please any music fan. Lush, angelic vocals combined with tear-drenched acoustics, hypnotic keyboards, rhythmic percussion, and a healthy dose of electronica makes this one of the most interesting and ear-catching releases of 2006. There's omething here for fans of all different types of music. DEFINITELY worth the buy! Highly recommended for Zero 7 fans, as well as anyone who is on the look out for "the next big thing."
