notes
The music of Under has been described as 'pop noir'.
It features vague and often melancholic lyrics, agreeably catchy melodies, warm sounds and a hint of something darker hidden in Jen Triano's distinctive, almost innocent vocal delivery.
They released this, their debut EP in late 2006. A Morgan Page remix of one of the songs on the EP, 'Under" was featured on ABC's 'Ugly Betty' and CBS/ Sci-Fi show 'Moonlight'.
Their new album 'more pleasant grey' is now available digitally at iTunes, eMusic, Amazon etc... and at: http://morepleasantgrey.com/UNDER/music.html

Very Nice
author: MoisesThis is EP is highly recommended. Great songs, very soothing and great lyrically and musically. The only downside is that the same songs that are on the EP are on their debut album, so you might as well buy their LP.

This is a rare gem.
author: justin jaxUnder really has crafted a dreamy mellow style with this CD. If you like chill out, Downtempo, or Trip-Hop you'll like this. It's dark but beautiful, very melodic with not a single bad note or melody in the whole thing. There's a real masterful blend of the acoustic elements with the electronic ones and the Vocals carry a relaxing emotion that will stay with you for days.

This is really very pretty, almost ambient dream pop. The vocals are wistful and light without being wimpy. They list The Sundays as an influence and I can really see that. There's a definite pop sensibility here, but there's a bit of a dark edge that makes this anything but mainstream.
Very cool...
author: LoriThis is a great first effort... If you like a moody female vocal you will enjoy this CD.
Love it!
author: SharonI LOVE this band. Mellow, dark music, great production and beautiful, understated vocals. Stand out tracks: Under and Keep On Moving but all 4 tracks are great.

This appetizer to the full course of what Under will offer us is one that will please any music fan. Lush, angelic vocals combined with tear-drenched acoustics, hypnotic keyboards, rhythmic percussion, and a healthy dose of electronica makes this one of the most interesting and ear-catching releases of 2006. There's omething here for fans of all different types of music. DEFINITELY worth the buy! Highly recommended for Zero 7 fans, as well as anyone who is on the look out for "the next big thing."
