notes
“The Southern Way” was originally released in 1992 by Bigtyme Recordz on cassette only. The group was quickly signed to Jive Records who re-worked the tracks and released them as “Too Hard To Swallow”. This reissue contains all 7 rare original versions plus 12 extra tracks featuring Pimp C & Bun B together and solo with 4 remixes by DJ Screw.
The new cover art is a re-work of the original image from the 1992 version. This recording has been lost to the owner for many years and was just uncovered with some help from James of BGN. It’s release was meant to be a tribute to the roots of one of the most important groups to ever come out of Texas. The entire project was completed before Pimp C’s death and is not intended to be a way to cash in on the tragedy. It is dedicated with love and respect to Pimp C and Bun B (The Underground Kings).
