Judie Tzuke
Judie's successful and critically acclaimed career was launched in 1978 when her single For You reached the Top 40 in Britain. The following year, her hit Stay With Me Till Dawn - for Elton John's Rocket label, remained in the
UK charts for 16 weeks. Subsequent appearances on the legendary show Top Of The Pops guaranteed her a place in the minds and ears of the British public. In June 2002, BBC Radio Two conducted a poll to determine the top fifty British songs of the past fifty years. Stay With Me Till Dawn was at No. 39. She has also co-written with Sir Elton John.
Tzuke's influence on a new generation of British female singers is evident and her work with contemporary artists proves this artist is getting better with every step ahead.
Judie's most recent venture is with the distinguished jazz quartet Project Grand Slam. The pairing of her sultry vocals with PGS's perfected chops on the remake The Captain Of Her Heart delivers an irresistible mood while giving this remake an air of romance and flirty sophistication.
With an impressive 20 albums immortalized within her vast discography, Judie continues to augment and showcase her skills as a thriving recording artist. As the Holiday Season approaches, Judie has teamed with PGS pianist Haim Cotton to deliver the delicate and heartwarming original "Christmas And I'm Home". Two versions are available, one with a tender chorus of children heard in the final coda.
Haim Cotton
Haim Cotton of Project Grand Slam plays keyboards and composes. Project Grand Slam's debut album "Play", features "The Captain Of Her Heart" with Judie Tzuke and was produced by the legendary Frank Filipetti (Grammy Award for James Taylor's Hourglass). Haim has recorded over 15 albums and has toured and recorded with the legendary Ofra Haza, appearing at the Montreux Jazz Festival. For the past 20 years, this gifted artist has been teaching music at The New School with an ongoing commitment to recording and live performance. Currently, Haim has once again teamed with internationally renowned vocalist Judie Tzuke, contributing a beautifully cascading, harp-like piano style for "Christmas And I'm Home."

SmoothJazz.com Review
author: Sandy Shore
British rock star Judie Tzuke has teamed up with Project Grand Slam’s Haim Cotton to release a striking holiday tune called “Christmas and I’m Home” featuring Judie’s sweet and clear, husky vocals and Haim’s tender, melodic piano work. Lyrically touching, heartfelt and poignant… a song dedicated to the efforts of the Ronald McDonald House of New York with 50% of the proceeds going directly to providing temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families offering a strong, supportive and caring environment which encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems. We are thrilled to discover Judie Tzuke who’s stunning voice crosses into our Smooth world perfectly and excited to support the efforts of one of the most excited new ensembles in contemporary jazz, Project Grand Slam!

Stunning Release

Stunning track - it's been kicking about for several years performed live by Gareth Gates back in 2004 and subsequently in demo form by Judie on her myspace.com/tzuke page.
Very pleased to see this finally releasedand really like the more relexed jazzy style of the recording.
