Twin Cities Hot Club DVD Live at the Times
(Minneapolis, MN) – “Hot Club Gypsy Jazz” is alive and thriving in the Midwest as demonstrated by local super group Twin Cities Hot Club new DVD release “Live at the Times.” The four-member group performs music from the high-energy genre originally created by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in 1930’s Paris. "Live at the Times" captures the Twin Cities Hot Club celebrating their two year anniversary with footage of the band in concert, swing dancers, fan interviews and special guest performers. 2006 MMA nominated best jazz artist -TCHC will celebrate the release of their DVD with two performances at the Times Bar and Café in Minneapolis, MN.
The Twin Cities Hot Club (TCHC) represents Minnesota in the burgeoning revival of gypsy jazz. Their weekly performance at the Times Bar and Café, is the longest standing in the genre for Minnesota. TCHC is set apart from other groups in the genre as they share their energy with swing dancers- this DVD showcases the exchange. The group recreates not only the famous LA POMPE driving rhythm that distinguishes this romantic brand of acoustic jazz but also gypsy bossanova, musette, bolero, and swing. This timeless, deep-rooted music is physical, alive and speaks directly to the heart.

TCHC is made up of some of Minnesota's most accomplished and dynamic string jazz masters, with Robert Bell (guitar), Reynold Philipsek (guitar), Gary Schulte (violin), and Matt Senjem (bass).
