notes

"IDEAS" is the T.R.S. 2nd album
recorded in Austin, TX Jan. 2006. This album features
bass guitar legend, Roscoe Beck whom is known the world
over for his playing and production in Eric Johnson & Robben Fords albums. Roscoe played upright acoustic bass on all tracks of "IDEAS". The songs on this album hit a crossover blend of Post-Modern Jazz and Indie Rock Stylings. Best described as true Modern Jazz served on a Rock dish. But in a tasteful way as to respect the long tradition of Jazz. David Chenu, another Austin musician is featured on several tracks for his lyrical and elegant Tenor Sax playing. Having plenty of solo sections through extremly harmonic chord changes. Some influences you can hear range from early
Pat Metheny, early Keith Jarrett, Death Cab for Cutie, Nirvana,Tears 4 Fears, Ornette Coleman, Eric Johnson,& Wayne Shorter.
This album is a big step, in that it also features Rountree's new compositions and playing in all several group sizes, i.e :
quintet, quartet, trio, duets, and the title track as solo .
Andy Dollerson, an amazing pianist is featured on over half
the album playing fender rhodes, and comping Rountree through the changes of these very harmonic tunes.
