notes
You're Causing A Scene' is the first release by the Phoenix, Arizona based five piece rock outfit, Ticker Tape Parade. At the tender age of 8 months, Ticker Tape Parade has already established itself at the top of the Arizona music scene, playing with such touring acts as No Knife, Midtown, and The Promise Ring among others, as well as local friends Jimmy Eat World. At four months old, TTP completed it's first west coast tour with The Stereo.
With a CD release party that attracted over 500 paying guests, along with a strong commitment and work ethic, you could say TTP is far ahead of the curve. Another west coast tour is scheduled to begin on the 14th of February, with plans to head east in March.
TTP walks the line between music as a candy bar and music as a well aged wine, finding a way to deliver both with one bite (slurp). This music is thoughtful and dynamic, with the focus on sing along choruses and guitar hooks that make the group sound like it could be the bastard progeny of AC/DC and Radiohead. If you are looking to get rocked, you will undoubtedly be rocked. If you are someone who needs a little more to chew on, you will feed to your hearts content. Simply put, these are catchy rock songs delicately prepared.
Influences range from U2 to Fugazi, from AC/DC to Low, from The Flaming Lips to Quicksand, from Jane's Addiction to Red House Painters. It's all in there. Listen.

Perfection!
author: Bobby RiversThis cd perfectly blends melody and power into a youthful hyperactive potion that makes you want to jump through a window and run down the street. It's the kind of project you wish everyone could hear, either on mainstream radio or concert stages. Excellent job!
It's really great it was better than expected!
author: JamieI used to buy cd's even if there's only one song I like on it but money's tight now so I only buy cds that I think are worth it. I heard this band from myspace and the songs were great! I was sooo happy when I received a copy of the ttp cd in the mail... I literally jumped around because I was so happy. The whole thing is really awesome everyone should support this ttp cd so they keep making the good stuff.

Amalgamating the melodic pop-punk of the 90s with the latest transformation of emo-pop, these musicians could woo any young lad's eardrums. Powerful harmonies and unexpected chord progressions leave you with a yearning for that summer after you graduated high school. This musical reminiscence of punk influences gives you a comforting, familiar feeling with a maturity that seems to proclaim, "You don't have to let go to move on."
Pure rock pleasure
author: In-Your-Ear Magazine, by Jason C. JonesWhile Tempe's Ticker Tape Parade, as a unit, is a tender nine months old, each of the members are veteran musicians; nowhere is this more evident than on their debut release, You're Causing A Scene, released this January on Sunset Alliance Records. The entirety of the record demonstrates both accomplished musicianship and a careful eye for song structure and production value. The record opens with a pair of instantly familiar alt-rock/power pop rockers, though even a first listen betrays their somewhat more-highbrow-than-your-average-band arrangements. Carefully constructed harmonies, effect-laden keyboard trills, and off-time drum fills give way to a forceful three-guitar attack, all of it backing candy-covered catchy melodies. "Sore Eyes" will be in your head for days, and "Stand Up No Show" will have you bouncing and dancing from its first note... (full review)
Propulsive Infective Energy
author: Bruce LometTTP's musical amalgalm is infectious. Every song has something sweet to digest. It only took me a few listens to be hooked on the melodic thrust of these tunes. I dare you to keep your foot still. (so sayeth this singer from CHINASKI)
