notes
International Creative Commons band Tryad debuts its sophomore album with a bang. Building and improving on their prior work, Listen runs the gamut from quiet and thoughtful to loud and intense.
Bring together elements of trip-hop, alt. rock, orchestral composition, and electronica, Listen breaks the mold of what you'd expect. Songs such as the epic "Breathe" build to an explosive and beautiful climax before setting down into a quiet nadir. The meaningful and expressive lyrics of the bombastic "You Are God" brings thoughtful and fascinating commentary to an otherwise excellent track. The title track, "Listen," is a brilliantly composed and executed sound with pitch-perfect mix and tone.
Exquisite vocal work from talented male and female singers compliment most every track on this album, with the exception of the two excellent instrumentals, "Waltz into the Moonlight" and "Far and Away." Especially notable is the work on "Breathe," "All the Same," "Beauty," and "Struttin'."
Listen moves up and down like waves guiding you through the ocean; sometimes rough, sometimes calm, but always fun to ride.

Sample songs from this CD propelled me into my first CDBaby purchase, even though I have been eyeing artists using this service for years. The instrumentals and vocals are all amazing.
Marvelous! I want a concert .
author: Christophe DupréHi everybody. I discover these artists by winamp, and the blog of Jim Nye, Idyllic music podcast and immediately fall in love with them. The voices are so anglic and fantastic, i listen the 2 albums i bought each morning and each evening. That's was my best choice of cd i never had. (excuse me, i'm french)
Tryad's sophomore album blows their debut album out of the water . . .
author: Alexander JohnsonI bought "Public Domain" awhile ago and loved it, so when this CD came out I was really excited - and with good reason. Tryad has really matured, demonstrated by an album in which each song fits perfectly into place with the others. The melodies are beautiful - there are some fun songs on here, but most are dark, haunting ballads that beg to be played over and over again. Definitely check this one out!
