Joe Macaskill, Steve Sabo, Matt Nelson, and Jason Lewis who serendipitously discovered each other at the California New Found Art pottery convention, proudly bring to you one of San Diego's finest musical conglomerations.
These are not the people of your current peaches and cream life, you little person who cries to your mommy. Culled from Seattle, Washington DC, and San Diego, Trophy Wife is comprised of musicians who have all been integral parts of rocks seething underbelly.
Although now in its infancy, Trophy Wife has deep roots having morphed through several variations before its present incarnation. throughout the name and personnel changes one thing has remained consistent: a freakin' sense of humor. That and almost fanatical devotion to alcohol. In their music you may find bits of rock, country, punk, and of course Irish drinking songs. As guitarist Steve Sabo recently remarked, "while lots of bands play from 'inside the box', we haven't actually found 'the box' and therefore aren't hindered by its limitations. Basically we're just looking for box." Trophy Wife formerly Bigwheel Wipeout, formerly Skunk Drunk, have in the past played with The Rugburns, Los Lobos, Jewel, and Ben Taylor. And performed at the Casbah, Belly-Up, O'Connells, and the Tiki House well as as playing at the Adams Avenue Street Fair for several years running.
The band is currently interested in getting out of the wood shed and continuing to play at these and other fine San Diego music establishments with their first release and west coast tour planned for later this year. If you're ready to get off your couch, you big baby-panzi, and leave the gross misrepresentation of a gross misrepresentation that is MTV, then come to the next Trophy Wife show. Bring your blow-up love slave and your next of kin along.
Trophy Wife accepts food stamps.

it great and funny songs here!
author: Taz Chevreregood mix of the serious and funny & ability. I have music from Rugburns from San Diego Calif. But Like this a bit more.
I wish I was in the band (was that out loud?)
author: Kom TellyI was very impressed by the musical ability of all involved. Easy to listen to and the quality of the recording was decent. I love these guys like they were my fellow inmates. I would have given them 5 stars if the singer was Japanese, like one of those guys from loudness. Great Work - Kom Telly
In this world of tears, music like this allows me to take less Prozac
author: Kevin BaconI have been following Joe and his music since my brother and I heard him play in Pacific Beach. I never introduced myself as I like to sit in the backgound and enjoy. Keep spreading cheer - Rock on. Kevin Bacon
