(About MP3 downloads at CD Baby)

Relaxing Celtic Harp improvisations tuned to the chakras of the body, attuned to gemstones and colors, played at a tempo that takes the brain into alpha state for relaxation, meditation and integration, with suggested exercises for meditational practices.

notes

Peaceful relaxation and meditation music performed on the Celtic harp by master harpist, Paul Baker.

This one of a kind CD contains eight improvisations designed to soothe your spirit, ground your body and open and tune your mind.

Each improvisation correlates with a different chakra of the body and a chart with practical exercises is included.

Recorded in a temple in the Santa Monica mountains, the pure acoustic sound of "The Tranquil Harp" offers the best of body/mind/spirit integration technology with a musical format that uplifts and inspires.

The sound of the harp has not been enhanced with added reverb or effects so you hear the wonderful true harp sound interacting with the building's acoustics. Grammy nominated recording engineer Fred Vogler engineered the recording and mastering sessions.

  • I love it
    author: Calliope

I first heard it during a meditation class, and fall in love with this CD. I bought Paul Barker's The ladder of soul as well, i think that one is as great!!!

  • What a great recording! Paul Baker's improvisations are flawless

Paul Baker's Tranquil Harp is peaceful and inspiring. I use it for my own enjoyment, but also give it for baby gifts. Our local hospital uses it with preemie babies, and both babies & staff love it. Great recording!

  • Make your drive so much better
    author: Suzette Smith

Stuck in traffic on the freeway? Pop this CD into your player and dive into a stream of soothing sound. Whether your attention is on the traffic or you are dreaming while driving, this music will allow you to stay calm, and arrive in a positive frame of mind. It's great while just sitting and reading too!

  • Gentleness and Strength
    author: Kathleen Clark

Recovering from a stroke, I experience this CD on a very physical level. It has brought, and continues to bring, growth and strength to every part of my physical being. To play it is to bathe in regeneration and light. Its music is very basic and simple, truly groundbreaking in its simplicity and breadth. Thank you, Mr. Baker, for sharing your gentleness and strength in such a loving and caring way. You have given us a true haven of tranquility and rest for both body and soul.

  • Relaxing, unobtrusive, a little tinny sounding but not annoying
    author: sara

Rather unimaginative, pleasant, rather "plunky" sounding harp music that definitely relaxed me within a minute or so of hearing it. There is nothing in the music to distract you from doing your work, relaxation, visualization or other activities while listening to it, which is good for those seeking music that fosters tranquility. Not bad!

  • Excellent!!!
    author: Patricia Schneider

The Tranquil Harp is a CD that I have recommended to many people to use for stress release, meditation, cleansing and healing. Paul Baker has provided a beautiful resource for all of the above. I use The Ladder of the Soul as well and am grateful for his talent.

Anyone in search of a "tranquilizer" need only to listen to this calming and very restful cd. I highly recommend it for insomniacs or restless children.

  • Your CDs play on my computer at work. Peace & serenity envelope my space.

I hope you will create many more of these high quality recordings.

  • Add calm to your life
    author: Terri Crosby

This CD is one of my personal favorites. I have listened to it for hours. One particularly stressful day, I put it on "repeat" and played it the whole day. It sounded fresh and new to me for 8 straight hours. My daughter has also listened to it many, many times as her bedtime music. It helps her relax and have good dreams. "Tranquil Harp" is also fabulous for any office environment where a calm atmosphere is needed. I used to work in a doctor's office and it was the favorite CD for the doctor and the patients who came for acupuncture or consultation. The music didn't interfere with conversation or talking on the phone, and at the same time sounded so clear that it felt like Paul was there playing it for us.

  • The Vibration of the Harp Opens One to Expansion
    author: Susie Basanda

This is one of the best recordings I have heard that truly supports the idea of opening up and expanding during meditation and relaxation. The best way to experience this is to listen to the entire CD. With each selection the expansion is more progressive. It will comfort the entire household, including animals. The three dogs in my home are on their backs with feet in the air half way through this CD.

  • Consummate musicianship in the service of the spirit.
    author: Kay Baumgartner

Sometimes we long to disconnect from the noisy, stressful world around us. This recording takes a different approach: rather than escape, it gently urges you to connect with your inner self, and bring the strength and serenity thus tapped back into the clamoring world, making it warmer, softer and more open for you and everyone you encounter. Oh yes -- and the music is ravishing.
