  • Great review from the UK!!!!

The first 5 track EP from the Bellmore, New York duo, Tragic Sense consists of Julia Fraglas on vocals and Jordan Durante providing the music. At times sounding like Garbage, other times sounding like no other band, Tragic Sense defies categorisation. PIECE OF ME with atmospheric backing from Durante’ guitar playing creates a haunting and menacing setting for the song’s subject matter. IN MY HEAD features an impressive, not too over the top guitar solo that makes you remember why some solos work and most do not. DADDY seems to be an attack on the way a parent has failed to understand their child, “What do I need to do to keep me from becoming just like you”. DEAR LOVE, a slow acoustic track, is conveying a letter of sorts to the one who had dumped her. Julia Fraglas’ vocals depict someone who has got the burden of the world on her shoulders. DOWN is probably the loudest, most guitar oriented track on this EP. With a crunching riff and an effective keyboard melody in the background, this would put most metal bands to shame. Jordan Durante’s well-sculptured beats are cleverly used and melody matched with Julia Fraglas’ lyrics and vocals make this EP an enjoyable experience and leaves the listener and yours truly wanting more.

  • Tragic Sense gets GREAT print review in wordlwide publication

Tragic Sense ‹ Insides Out Insides Out is the debut offering from New York's progressive rock duo, Tragic Sense. Jordan Durante supplies the guitar work and programming that comprise the melodic electric rhythms while songstress Julia Fragias provides the soulful voice. The resulting sound can best be compared to what Tori Amos might sound like if her music were more guitar-driven. The cd kicks off with the mellow Piece Of Me, then begins to shift gears as electric guitars lend a rougher edge to In My Head. The heavy driving pulse of ³Down² is accented by passionately delivered lyrics, and ³Dear Love² begins as a bittersweet acoustic ballad before rising to an electronic crescendo. With Insides Out, Tragic Sense establishes themselves as a rising talent in the realm of alternative rock. (www.tragicsense.com)

  • Et tu Tori?
    author: Tomm J

When I think of Tori Amos's "Little Earthquakes" I reminisce of a time and place that is dark and lonely. Where snow falls on dead branches and footprints are left in a beautiful field. This is a place Tori has not brought me back to for a while. Tragic Sense brings me back to that place. Where I am lost within visions of disarray and a beautiful voice calls to me threw hardships and pain. The innocence in Julia Fragia's voice is haunting and electric. Her style is dark, laced with elegance that enlightens the depth of the music Songwriter/guitarist Jordan Durante fills in every crack without any overkill, bringing senses of melody and rage with every note. Speaking with his guitar the void of emptiness is occupied with multi track layering of different effects and tones. The numerous guitar tracks are a welcome change to the normal keyboard cop-out. Only when needed and never taken for granted the keyboards are used to heighten the perception of the moment. On this 5 song CD there are no standout tracks. All tracks follow a style that never stray far into any direction and stay on its path. Recorded by Mike Sapone the production of this CD is excellent and sound quality is superb. Not fitting into any specific category Tragic Sense's unique style is suitable for any listener of good music. REVIEW BY Tommy@subCreate.com

Tragic Sense - Long Island, NY Insides Out - CD Review by Pat Ferris Tragic Sense, a new songwriting/recording duo from the New York area is emerging on the internet music scene as a defining sound in electronic pop. Their music, self-desribed as 'dream-pop', layers Julia Fragias' dreamy vocals and the chunky rhythm guitar of Jordan Durante over the top of programmed drums and keys. Their first EP Insides Out is a bold step in a new musical direction. If you could imagine Alanis Morrisette fronting Genesis, you're on the right track as far as picturing visually what Tragic Sense sounds like. Down and Dear Love were two radio-ready cuts from their upcoming official release that I really thought had potential. I recommend checking out the MP3's they offer here at HotBands.com, at their MP3.com page and at their official homepage As a final note, this is a band that has a nice package....they sent us an email when they were linked up, added a link back to our page (as requested when you first sign up), and sent a very nice promo package and hand-signed letter! They even followed up with an email to make sure we received their package. The level of professionalism that Tragic Sense displays will no doubt open doors, exposing their music and message. They are one of the bands that it's been a true pleasure to review.

  • Beautiful, dreamy, intricate...
    author: Local Music Bands

EP Review by DJ Bad Hamster Tragic Sense This is absolutely beautiful. I wept tears of purest honey! A very powerful female voice, with a delicate and often quirky sound much like Alanis Morrisette, (but without the annoying spazyness of Alanis). The music is very intricate, many overlayered sounds and a flowing dreamlike tone, especially in the fragile "Dear Love". The last two tracks "Down" and "In My Head" are stronger and reminicent of some Bjork work with the mechanical sounding drums. The lyrics are powerful and sung with great expression. Listen if only to appreciate the beauty and work thats within each track.
