notes
Godfrey Townsend is a New York based musician who has worked with many of rock music’s most influential names.
In the past decade alone, he has been recruited to work with:
John Entwistle, bass guitarist of The Who
Jack Bruce, bass guitarist/vocalist of Cream
Dave Mason, guitarist/vocalist of Traffic
Alan Parsons, producer/engineer/recording artist
He has also worked with Ann Wilson from Heart, Todd Rundgren, Christopher Cross, Mark Farner, Joey Molland from Badfinger, Denny Laine from Wings, Spencer Davis, Mitch Ryder, Billy Squier, Terry Sylvester of The Hollies, Felix Cavaliere…just to name a few of Classic Rock’s royalty…
Taking influences and inspiration from such guitar greats as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, Robin Trower and more recently, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, he has compiled a CD of soulfully passionate guitar compositions from several decades of demos…
”I am very excited and pleased with how good the final masters of these tunes have turned out…it would not have come to fruition without the masterful help of my musical partner, Steve Murphy…he played drums on all the tracks as well as engineered, mixed, produced and composed with me on this…other members of The Alan Parsons Live Project, John Montagna and Manny Focarazzo (bassist And keyboardist, respectively) lent their extraordinary talents to the recording…my son Joseph, who is a fine bassist and keyboardist, also makes a special appearance…Bill Murphy, (Steve's brother) masterfully co-engineered the final mixes at his studio in Florida...I couldn’t have hoped for a better finished product than what I have here…every song is another exciting journey that leads into the next track…if you are a fan of Classic Rock music and guitar playing, I think you will really enjoy this…please feel free to give me your review of it with any suggestions or requests you may have for what will definitely be a soon-to-follow-up 2nd CD”…please enjoy, Godfrey Townsend

Incredible!
author: Chris PadgettGodfrey Townsend has put out one of those CDs that just jumps right up into the "Top Ten CDs You'd Want On A Deserted Island" list. This is a magnificent, eclectic mix of beautiful crying guitar melodies and electrifying rock riffs that will make you press the repeat button on your player and just let it go...infinitely. A magnanimous work of purity for his first solo outting, and I cannot wait for more!
A great Birthday gift!`
author: louise sattlerWe recently had the pleasure of seeing Godfrey Townsend in Maryland with Alan Parson. It was a wonderful night and I knew that buying this CD would make the perfect birthday present for my husband! I was right- it is in his CD player and keeps him company on the road during his long commute. THANK YOU- it is a wonderful musical addition to our collection.

Brilliant.
author: GuidoA phenominal collection. Not a copy of other classic rockers. Whole new ideas. Very fresh. All the musicians are amazing. The drums blow me away as well as the guitar. Definately one of my (stranded on a)desert island discs.

I'd need more than 10 words.
author: Donna Torres AKA: WongPlayed it over and over again. It's now etched in my mind, every song, every note. In this noisy, crazy, hectic world we live in, I find myself humming the songs in the middle of total chaos, and I journey far away to another planet.

Impressive work from an impressive musician
author: Tina CarlsonFrom its first note to its last note, this CD really delivers what it promises. Filled with inventive and skilled guitar playing, informed by passion and spirituality that shine through in every track, this disc was well worth the wait. Many classic rock guitar influences can be heard here from Gilmour to Townshend to Beck to Clapton to Harrison, Rundgren and beyond, but Godfrey's personal stamp is always at the fore. Can't wait to play it again!!
