notes
As an artist and performer, you’ve either got that special something or you haven’t.
It’s indefinable. You can’t put it into words but you know it when you hear it. Toscha Comeaux is one such artist.
Born in Hartford Connecticut, her grounding was in the Church, in the tradition of so many great American singers. She was trained at the Greater Hartford Academy of Performing Arts, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Choral performance.. From there she gained a scholarship to the Bethune Cookman Concert Choral in Daytona and performed with the Connecticut Opera and Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. A great classical pedigree BUT….her main love has always been mainstream jazz, soul and R&B. She has shared the stage with such greats as Lou Rawls, the late Ray Charles and Diana Ross but she is now making a mark in her own right with the release of her debut album ‘This Could Be Love’, a collection of knockout brand new songs by a knockout artist.
The idea to make the cd came from a meeting in 2004 between UK songwriter Peter Yates and American producer Ed Krout at his Phat Planet recording studios in Orlando. Peter was working on another project at the time but had some new songs which he thought would work well on a jazz/soul cd. Ed had the production expertise but they needed an artist with the right qualities to bring real life to the songs. Ed introduced Peter to Toscha, with whom he’d worked before and once he had heard her, Peter had no doubt she was exactly what they were looking for.
‘This Could Be Love’ may be classed a s a jazz album but Toscha exhibits incredible versatility as she mixes the flavours of smooth jazz, soul, R&B, latin and even a little urban ac on this wonderfully refreshing album.

Truly a blessing to our ears!
author: Angelo L. StokesThe soulfull voice of Toscha Comeaux is truly a blessing to our ears! So many of today's musicians have the same sound...Toscha's music is refreshing and pleasant. Her vocals are truly a gift from God! They are strong and full without sounding over-powering and obtrusive. The overall flow of the cd is great...each song transitions from one to another in a smooth and subtle way. I enjoy her music, and I look forward to many, many more installations from this artist (trust me, you haven't heard the last of Toscha!)

I love Toscha's CD!
author: Seth Sharp / Black Clock Band.I really like what I have heard of Toscha's CD so far. The singing is wonderful of course and I really like the back-up vocals too. They are really clean and are well-timed. The album seems to share Toscha's unique sense of humor. Listening to the CD helped to put me in a really good. I think my favorite song on the CD is, "You'll never get to Heaven if you break my heart." I highly recommend this album to anyone who wants some powerfully uplifting jazz with a touch of mischief.
