notes
Back to Zero features over an hour of beautiful trip hop and acid jazz cuts in styles ranging from haunting piano nocturnes to operatic jazz epics.
What do listeners think? Ian Tyler Bowers of Audiostreet.net calls tracks off Back to Zero "even better" than RjD2, and trip hop artist False raves: "Tomfoolio has got the sh*t to make you sit up and show respect! His tracks are so well done and interesting...we all need to step up our game. Tomfoolio is approaching that next level sh*t!"

You will not find a more intersting album
author: Groove DonkeyThis is true genius. When I first purchased back to zero, upon my first listen I was in awe, in a stupor. I thought "Damn, this is just the kind of music I've been waiting to hear." Back to zero is exponentially more imaginative and interesting than any album you're likely to hear for a long long time. Front to back, it's flawless - its the soundtrack to a wandering mind. Unpredictable - this record is by far the most modern thing you're likely to hear. Lightyears ahead of it's time musically - Tomfoolios leading the charge while the rest of us are desperately trying to catch up to where he's at. I'm not exagerating when I say I must've listened to sleepwalker 30 times in a row. I just couldn't stop listening.
More polished is an understatement.
author: George GriesenbeckNot only is this album cleaner sounding than the last, but you can really hear how much the artist himself has improved all together. A lot of work went into this album and I'm afraid it was all worth it. 4 Liter Flask may of changed my life, but guess what.. GCY vs TWC changed how I approach a song when I write it. It gave me the audio chiropractal adjustment I needed to snap me out of a rut. Nocturne is so hypnotic it's scary. And Cornfields is just phenomenal.. I don't know how you even pulled that one off. Thanks for another delicious album, Mr. Foolio.
This is going to be my girlfriend's Christmas present!
author: Nick JeffriesThe adventure begun in Adventures Among the Pod People continues with this, Tomfoolio's second album. I bought the first album last year and thoroughly enjoyed it, though in my opinion, this one is a lot better. For one thing, there's the quality of the CD itself. This album comes as an actual CD, not a CD-R. It also looks to have been professionally pressed and shrinkwrapped. Back to Zero has been very nicely designed, with cascading zeroes across the cover and on the disc itself. I will have no fears about handing this over to my girlfriend on Christmas Eve. Another reason I feel that this album is better is that the music is moodier. The feel of Back to Zero is quite consistent, despite a few standouts like Bow Pow and Son of Drifter. It's thinking music. I can pop this in my stereo after a hard day and just let it play while I sit and let my mind wander. Someone supposedly said that this album was better than RjD2. I don't know about that--it's a different style of music. But I wouldn't say that RjD2 is out of this guy's league, either. Just do us both a favor and get this CD. And if you're really smart, get your girlfriend one, too.
